Ohio State junior F Deshaun Thomas has declared for the NBA draft.
Thomas led the Big Ten in scoring this season at 19.8 points per game, earning third-team All-America honors. Although he has prototypical size for an NBA swingman at 6'7/225, he’s only considered a borderline first-round prospect right now. Thomas shot an unimpressive 34.4 percent on 3-pointers, lacks the ability to create his own shot and struggled on the glass (5.9 rebounds per game).

DeShaun Thomas has agreed to a contract to play for a team in Paris.
Thomas was expected to sign El Estudiantes in Spain, but unexpectedly changed his mind. Thomas, who was the 58th pick in June’s draft, had a productive summer league but would’ve had difficulty cracking the Spurs’ rotation. This way Thomas will gain experience while the Spurs retain his NBA rights.
  • Small Forward
DeShaun Thomas is negotiating a deal to sign with Anadolu Efes Istanbul, according to David Pick.
Thomas spent last season in the D-League with the Austin Spurs, but will look to take his talents overseas for 2016-17. While the 24-year-old could wind up back in the NBA at some point, he is firmly off the fantasy radar.

The Spurs have reportedly extended a training camp invite to DeShaun Thomas.
Thomas was taken by San Antonio with the No. 58 overall selection in the 2013 draft, and he’ll now have the opportunity to compete for a roster spot during training camp.
  • Small Forward
Spurs sign F DeShaun Thomas for training camp.
Thomas, the No. 58 pick in the 2013 draft, is not likely to make the final roster.

The Spurs have waived forward DeShaun Thomas.
It’s not easy to make the Spurs’ final roster and Thomas was only on a training camp deal. We will let you know where Thomas ends up.

FC Barelona signed DeShaun Thomas to a contract.
He was in Paris last season after being selected by the Spurs with the 58th pick in the 2013 draft. Thomas is a solid rebounding small forward, but he’s nowhere near close to being on an NBA team any time soon.

Ohio State F DeShaun Thomas was taken with the 58th pick in the NBA Draft.
Thomas is a lefty with a smooth stroke, able to create his own shot and score at will. He’s a tweener, meaning he isn’t really a true small or power forward, but this seems to be a perfect fit for the Spurs. There seems little doubt that he’ll stick in the NBA and with his ability to shoot and score, will probably be a role player off the Spurs bench next season. Thomas refused to give the Spurs his cell phone number when he visited with them, but we’re guessing they’ve got it now.

DeShaun Thomas is close to coming a deal with El Estudiantes in Spain.
He was productive in summer league with 12.4 points and 5.0 boards in Las Vegas, but the Spurs have quite a bit of depth. Thomas was the 58th pick in the draft and would probably be better off getting extra playing time. The Buckeye could make his way to the NBA eventually, but it doesn’t appear it will be this season.
