  • MIA Power Forward #24
Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports that Haywood Highsmith has signed a two-year, $11 million deal to return to Miami.
The fourth-year man out of Wheeling Jesuit enjoyed a career-best season, finishing the 2023-24 campaign with averages of 6.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.8 steals, 0.5 blocks and 1.2 triples across 20.7 minutes in 66 appearances (26 starts). He won’t be much help to your fantasy team, but Highsmith - a guy who truly exemplifies “Heat Culture” - is a nice re-signing for Miami.
  • MIA Small Forward #11
Jaime Jaquez Jr. (right hip flexor strain) is out for Wednesday’s game against the Celtics.
Already playing without Jimmy Butler and Terry Rozier, the last thing Miami needed was another injury. Jaquez injured his hip during Monday’s Game 4 defeat, limiting the rookie to 22 minutes. He will not play in what could be the Heat’s final game of the season, with Jaquez’s absence freeing up a spot in the starting lineup. Delon Wright, Haywood Highsmith, and Duncan Robinson (who’s dealing with left facet syndrome) are all available to absorb the minutes that would usually go to Jaquez.
  • MIA Power Forward #24
Haywood Highsmith (left upper arm contusion) is available for Saturday’s game against Boston.
Highsmith has played 26 minutes in each of the first two games of this series, which will be his likely workload for Game 3. He’s capable of providing a few 3-pointers and some rebounds, but that isn’t enough to merit being slotted into most DFS lineups.
  • MIA Power Forward #24
Haywood Highsmith (left upper arm contusion) is questionable for Saturday’s Heat-Celtics matchup.
Highsmith is back on the injury report after tallying nine points, three rebounds, and a steal in Game 2. He’ll likely continue to play a significant role off the bench on Saturday.
  • MIA Power Forward #24
Haywood Highsmith (left upper arm contusion) is listed as active for Wednesday’s Game 2 matchup between the Heat and Celtics.
Highsmith popped up on the injury report after Game 1 but isn’t at risk to miss any time ahead of Game 2. He’s logged at least 26 minutes in three straight games since the regular season ended but was held scoreless his last time out.
  • MIA Small Forward #22
Jimmy Butler will be sidelined for multiple weeks after suffering what is feared to be an MCL injury in Wednesday’s loss to Philadelphia.
Butler suffered the injury in the first quarter of Wednesday’s loss but managed to play the rest of the game. He was seen noticeably grimacing throughout the contest, most notably after a steal and fastbreak dunk. Butler’s absence couldn’t have come at a worse time for Miami. The Heat will play in an elimination game Friday against the Bulls, and the winner will advance to face the Celtics as the No. 8 seed. Without “Playoff Jimmy” on the court, Miami will have to lean more heavily on Jaime Jaquez Jr., Haywood Highsmith, Nikola Jovic and Caleb Martin.
  • MIA Power Forward #42
Kevin Love (upper left arm contusion) will not return to Sunday’s game against the Raptors.
Love has been a solid depth piece for Miami, but he will be sidelined for the rest of their final regular season game. We’ll see if he’s able to return for the postseason, whether that is a Play-In game or a first round matchup. If he has to miss time, Haywood Highsmith should see extra minutes off the bench.
  • MIA Center #13
Bam Adebayo finished Tuesday’s win over the Knicks with 15 points (6-of-9 FGs, 3-of-4 FTs), nine rebounds, one assist, and one steal in 32 minutes.
Adebayo may not have posted a double-double on Tuesday, but he has been consistently productive as a rebounder. The All-Star center has grabbed at least nine rebounds in 13 straight games, and over the past two weeks, he has been a top 20 player in 8- and 9-cat formats. Also producing solid numbers among the frontcourt players on Tuesday was Haywood Highsmith, who finished with 14 points, eight rebounds, one assist, one steal, and two 3-pointers in 28 minutes. Unlike Bam, a fixture in all fantasy leagues, Highsmith is a deep-league streamer at best.
  • MIA Shooting Guard #55
Duncan Robinson shot 2-of-7 from the field in Sunday’s win over the Wizards, scoring six points with three rebounds, one assist, one block, and two 3-pointers in 28 minutes.
After missing five games with a back injury, Robinson was in the starting lineup on Sunday. He didn’t provide much value against the Wizards, but fantasy managers should not be too concerned. Robinson is rostered in 34% of Yahoo leagues, and he will continue to offer deep-league value as long as Tyler Herro (foot) is sidelined. On Sunday, the Heat were also without Caleb Martin, which raised the short-term ceilings of Jaime Jaquez Jr. (9/1/2/0/1 with one 3-pointer) and Haywood Highsmith (10 points, four rebounds, one block, and two 3-pointers).
  • MIA Small Forward #16
Caleb Martin (right ankle discomfort) has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Wizards.
Martin has played through the discomfort in his ankle recently but will not do so on Sunday. With Jaime Jaquez Jr. (ankle) available, he can absorb some of the minutes that would have gone to Martin. Also in line for additional minutes is Haywood Highsmith, who has been red-hot from three over the past week.
