After most of their key summer returnees played in Saturday’s loss to the Kings, the Nets rested those players on Sunday. As a result, there were more opportunities for Sallis, who is looking to earn another opportunity once training camp begins in the fall. Waived from his two-way deal by the 76ers in December, the former Wake Forest standout did a little bit of everything in the 89-69 victory. And the ability to chip in beyond scoring is what Sallis will need to show if he’s to get another two-way deal.

Of the three players signed to two-way contracts by the 76ers this offseason, Sallis was the only one active for Friday’s summer finale. The undrafted rookie out of Wake Forest did not have a productive evening offensively, but he nearly filled his entire stat line in the four-point victory. Given the moves made by Philadelphia this offseason, Sallis will likely spend most of his time with the team’s G League affiliate next season. Jabari Walker and Dominick Barlow are the other players the 76ers signed to two-way deals this summer.

After playing two seasons at Gonzaga, Sallis transferred and took on a far more significant role at Wake Forest. During his final season, the 6-foot-5 guard averaged 18.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.3 three-pointers per game, shooting 45.7 percent from the field and 80.4 percent from the foul line. While Sallis did not provide much value as a three-point shooter, making 27.7 percent of his attempts in 2024-25, there’s prior evidence that he can. During his first season at Wake Forest, the guard shot 40.5 percent from deep on 5.4 attempts per game. He’s a solid addition for Philadelphia, but he’ll likely spend most of his time with their G League affiliate in Delaware.
