Karlo Matković (back) is questionable for Friday’s game against the Celtics.
Matković has missed the Pelicans’ last four games with a lower back injury. With Yves Missi also out, Josh Oduro played 26 minutes in Tuesday’s win over the Jazz. If Matković remains out, Oduro should once again play rotation minutes off the bench.
  • NOP Center #13
Pelicans signed Josh Oduro to a two-way contract.
The center went undrafted in 2024 after spending four seasons at George Mason and one at Providence. He has been playing for the Birmingham Squadron, the Pelicans’ G League affiliate, in the two years since. Oduro has averaged 15.3 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 1.3 blocks per game this season and will join a crowded center room that includes Derik Queen, DeAndre Jordan, Karlo Matkovic and Kevon Looney, though none of them started in the Pelicans’ most recent game. This is a great opportunity for Oduro, but don’t expect him to be worth scooping up off the waiver wire.
