Keegan Murray logged 43 minutes in Sunday’s overtime win in Phoenix, producing 14 points (5-of-11 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), 14 rebounds, one assist, and two 3-pointers in 42 minutes.
Not only did Murray lead all players in rebounds on Sunday, but he also matched his career-high in the category. Thus far, he’s been the middle-round player in fantasy, which was the expectation based on Murray’s ADP (80). If he can continue to be effective as a rebounder and defender, there’s room for Murray’s fantasy ceiling to rise.

Keegan Murray recorded a double-double on Wednesday with 22 points (9-of-17 FGs), 12 rebounds, three assists, one block and three 3-pointers against Toronto.
For the third time in their last four games, Murray was able to record a double-double. He set a new season-high for rebounds and had his best scoring performance since the season opener. Keegan’s usage hasn’t taken much of a hit this year despite the addition of DeMar DeRozan, and he has been far more effective on the glass, averaging a career-high 8.3 rebounds per game. His 3-point percentage is down (31.4%), so once he gets his shot going, he’ll be able to put up the best numbers of his young career.

Keegan Murray played 40 minutes in Saturday’s loss to the Lakers, scoring 14 points (5-of-11 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs) with four rebounds, one assist, two steals, two blocks, and two 3-pointers.
After averaging 1.8 combined steals and blocks last season, Murray’s path to increased fantasy value in 2024-25 may be on that end of the floor. He didn’t record a steal or blocked shot in Thursday’s loss to Minnesota, but the third-year forward had four defensive contributions on Saturday. Murray’s scoring opportunities may take a hit with DeMar DeRozan replacing Harrison Barnes, but he won’t “go hungry.” Murray can reel off a top-50 season if the defensive stats are there.

Keegan Murray shot 8-of-17 from the field and 2-of-2 from the foul line in Thursday’s loss to the Timberwolves, tallying 23 points, 12 rebounds, two assists, and five 3-pointers in 43 minutes.
This was an encouraging stat line for fantasy managers. Not only did Murray lead the team in minutes (tied with DeMar DeRozan), but he was second in field-goal attempts. With DeRozan joining the lineup this summer, there was concern that Murray’s fantasy ceiling could be lower. There’s a lot more basketball to play, but the usage on Thursday was good to see.

Keegan Murray finished Tuesday’s exhibition loss to the Jazz with 21 points (8-of-19 FGs), five rebounds, one assist, two steals, and five 3-pointers in 37 minutes.
Murray wasn’t as productive in the defensive stats as he was in Friday’s loss to the Warriors, but he racked up two more steals while doing a little more offensively. The shots may be somewhat inconsistent due to the need to feed De’Aaron Fox, Domantas Sabonis, and DeMar DeRozan, but Murray will have his opportunities. He’s worth a middle-round pick in standard league drafts, and the Kings’ need for another capable defender could boost Murray’s defensive production.

Keegan Murray accumulated 17 points (5-of-11 FGs, 6-of-8 FTs), one rebound, two assists, five steals, one block, and one 3-pointer in 26 minutes.
With the Kings effectively replacing Harrison Barnes with DeMar DeRozan, Murray will likely slide down in the offensive pecking order. One way to compensate is through improved defensive play, even if that doesn’t always translate into stats. This was not the case for Murray on Friday, as he racked up five steals and a blocked shot. Last season, Murray had three steals in a game on six occasions, finishing with an average of 1.0 per game. He isn’t going to consistently tally five steals, but increased defensive production (1.9 “stocks” per game last season) would protect some of Murray’s fantasy value.

Keegan Murray (left hip) shot 4-of-12 from the field and 1-of-2 from the foul line in Friday’s 105-98 loss to New Orleans, tallying 11 points, seven rebounds, three assists, one steal, one block, and two 3-pointers in 38 minutes.
After torching the Warriors on Tuesday, Murray could not rebound from a slow start in Friday’s loss to New Orleans. He began 2-of-7 from the field, and suffering a left hip injury during the second quarter didn’t help. Murray did return and go on to play 38 minutes, but a solid second season in the NBA came to a disappointing end. Beginning the season with a Yahoo ADP of 104.5, the 2022 lottery pick ranked just outside the top 50 in 8- and 9-cat formats. The key for Murray moving forward will be to play with consistent aggression and not go through stretches in which he’s overly deferential to De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis. At a minimum, he’ll be worth selecting with a top-75 pick in standard league drafts.

Keegan Murray shot 10-of-20 from the field and 4-of-4 from the foul line in Tuesday’s win over the Warriors, scoring 32 points with nine rebounds, two steals, and eight 3-pointers in 39 minutes.
What a night for Murray, who scored 11 of Sacramento’s first 15 points and did not let up. The second-year forward improved his production across the board compared to his rookie campaign, except for 3-point percentage (35.8% compared to 41.1% last season). Murray finished the regular season providing 5th-round per-game value in 9-cat formats while ranking just inside the top 100 in 8-cat. Tuesday’s victory earned Sacramento a matchup with New Orleans on Friday, and the winner will be the 8-seed in the West.
  • SAC Small Forward #13
Keegan Murray shot 9-of-19 from the field in Friday’s loss to the Suns, amassing 23 points, seven rebounds, three steals, and five 3-pointers in 43 minutes.
After scoring 19 points or less in his first six appearances in April, Murray surpassed the 20-point mark for the first time since March 31 (25 vs. Utah). He’s made five 3-pointers in consecutive games while also tallying 12 rebounds and five steals. Murray’s a safe bet for points and 3-point production; if he can offer consistent value in the rebound and steals categories, his fantasy value will increase in 2024-25. Murray’s averages have increased across the board compared to his rookie campaign, which is what the Kings (and fantasy managers) want to see.

Harrison Barnes tallied 22 points (9-of-15 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), five rebounds, four assists, one steal, and two 3-pointers in Thursday’s loss to New Orleans.
Barnes played 32 minutes and was one of four Kings starters to finish Thursday’s defeat in double figures. And this was a performance he desperately needed. In the Kings’ prior five games, Barnes scored 28 points on 7-of-30 shooting from the field. He was significantly better on Thursday, with the 22 points being the most the veteran forward’s scored since March 31 (24 vs. Utah). Keegan Murray also had a solid night on offense, finishing with 19 points, five rebounds, one assist, two steals, and five 3-pointers in 36 minutes.
