Giannis Antetokounmpo got ejected for tackling Mike Dunleavy in the Bulls’ Game 6 beatdown of the Bucks:
Before that, though, Dunleavy took a cheap shot on Milwaukee guard Michael Carter-Williams. In the first quarter:
Then, after Antetokounmpo escalated things, Dunleavy went after Carter-Williams again in the third quarter:
When Dunleavy went for his neck that second time, Carter-Williams retaliated.
This was a physical/dirty/feisty series. Add a team getting blown out in an elimination game, and tempers were bound to boil over.
Throughout the series, the referees did a poor job officiating these incidents. The more players got away with, the the more the aggrieved side took retribution into its own hands. If the refs had nipped this in the bud, we could have avoided a lot of nonsense.
