If you read this fantastic article by David Haglund of Slate, you’re rooting for Delonte West.
Not necessarily to get a huge contract or even return to the NBA – but just to get an honest chance.
West hasn’t played in the NBA since 2011-12, and he spent last year in China. A spot on the Clippers’ summer-league roster didn’t lead to any NBA opportunities.
So, once again, West is headed to China.
Chris Haynes of The Plain Dealer:
NBA vet Delonte West reaches agreement on 1-year deal with Yao Ming's Shanghai Sharks of Chinese Basketball Association, league source says.

At 31, it’s possible West can no longer play at an NBA level. Maybe an unfair perception of him robbed him of final years in the league, and it might be too late now.
But he’s still earning a living playing basketball – and he still has a chance to return to the NBA. The Chinese season ends before the NBA’s so, West could catch on somewhere mid-season.
