On Monday, the Golden State Warriors will attempt to close out the Cleveland Cavaliers at home to win their second consecutive NBA title, and they’ll have to do so without Draymond Green. Just as the team feared, the NBA retroactively assessed Green a Flagrant 1 for his hit to LeBron James’ groin. Green was one flagrant point away from suspension, meaning he will miss Game 5.
James was also assessed a technical foul for the incident. Missing Green will be a huge blow for the Warriors. In the first four games of the Finals, their net rating is +13.6 points per 100 possessions when he’s on the court and -9.6 points per 100 possessions when he’s on the bench. Golden State will have their work cut out for them closing it out without him.
