Giannis Antetokounmpo led Greece to an impressive showing in EuroBasket last fall, but the Greeks fell short of qualifying for the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Still, they played well enough to make an Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

The Bucks forward will help them try to win it:

Greece is the top-ranked team in the Turin qualifier. Win that six-team tournament, and you advance to Rio.

Croatia is the top challenger, and Italy is a dark horse on its home turf.

But Antetokounmpo is so talented, and he is continuously improving. He could be better than he was for Milwaukee this season.

I’m excited to watch him play, and I’m sure that doesn’t even compare to the Greeks’ enthusiasm for this news.
