James Dolan is the CEO of Cablevision Systems Corporation and executive chairman of The Madison Square Garden Company, which owns the Knicks. In practice, he owns the Knicks.

But what he really wants to do is play the blues.

Dolan is the lead singer for JD and the Straight Shot — his blues band. They play some gigs around NYC (they opened for the Eagles because Dolan is good friends with Eagles manager Irving Azoff and they played in his building). If you’ve never had the “pleasure” of hearing them perform then we bring you this video from “Good Day New York” on the local Fox affiliate where Dolan stopped by to play a few songs.

You can decide for yourself if he is better as a blues singer (because all the best blues singers grew up with a silver spoon in their mouth) or owner of the Knicks.

All I will say is at least with the Knicks he is staying out of the way. For now.
