Draymond Green talked about how proud he was of his clutch steal in the Warriors’ win over the Pelicans on Tuesday, and it was a huge play
One problem: Green got away with a foul on the stop, according to the NBA.
While the steal itself is legal, LHH shows that prior to the steal, Green (GSW) puts two hands on Davis’s (NOP) back and bunches his jersey in a hand.
Golden State was in the penalty, so a correct call would’ve sent Anthony Davis – who’s making 83% of his free throws this season and 79% for his career – to the line for two attempts with New Orleans down two points and 4.5 seconds left.
Instead, the Pelicans had to intentionally foul, and Green hit a couple free throws to ice a 113-109 Warriors win.
