NEW YORK -- Victor Oladipo woke the Barclays Center crowd up in the first round of All-Star Saturday night’s final event, the Slam Dunk contest.
Oladipo started things off by coming out in a tuxedo and top hat, and singing Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York.” That silly attempt at showmanship was quickly forgotten, once the crowd saw exactly what Oladipo had in store.
He missed his first attempt, but the place went nuts with a loud reaction regardless. That’s because what Oladipo ultimately completed -- a 540-degree spin with a two-handed reverse finish -- was ridiculously impressive.
