Pacome Dadiet accounted for five points (2-of-8 FGs, 1-of-2 FTs), five rebounds, and two assists in 28 minutes.
Dadiet, the 25th overall pick in last month’s draft, took on a challenging assignment in his summer debut. He was tasked with defending Brandon Miller, who finished third in last season’s Rookie of the Year voting, for most of Saturday’s game. While Dadiet certainly did not back down from the challenge, it was clear on both ends of the floor why he’s viewed as a long-term prospect, not a player who can help the Knicks immediately. However, he’ll have more time to gain experience, and the Knicks’ depth on the wings should aid Dadiet in his development.

The Knicks selected Pacome Dadiet with the No. 25 pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
Dadiet played professionally for Ratiopharm Ulm in Germany, logging 59 games in 2023-24. In 19 EuroCup appearances, he averaged just 15.3 minutes, but his per-36 averages of 15.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, 0.9 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.8 triples were solid. The 6-foot-8, 210 wing profiles as an athletic 3-and-D prospect at the next level, though he still has plenty of room to grow. Dadiet needs more development before he’s ready to make an impact in the NBA, and that means managers shouldn’t expect him to make an impact for their fantasy teams in Year 1, either. Selecting Dadiet gives the Knicks another wing who can stretch the floor, but they’re deep enough at that position not to have to rely on him immediately. He’ll be a better option for dynasty leagues than redrafts, especially with the need for more defensive development.
