Incumbent LS Kam Canaday was cut after a bad snap in the Week 3 loss, leading to a Bills touchdown. Brewer has 64 games of experience.

Brewer has been the Broncos’ long snapper since 2012.

Brewer just signed a new four-year, $4 million deal last March. He’d been the Broncos’ deep snapper the past four seasons. The move saves $430,000.

Brewer was released by the Broncos last week. He played for coach John Fox in Denver and will now long-snap for him in Chicago if he wins the gig.

Brewer has been snapping the snaps that are longer than normal snaps in Arizona for the past two seasons. He previously handled those duties in Denver.

Brewer suffered a broken wrist in Week 5. He returned to practice Wednesday and should take over as the snapper of longer than normal snaps this week.
