Green Bay is still considering starting LB Abdul Hodge at MLB to open the season, with Nick Barnett moving to the strong-side.
Such a move would be a huge boon to Hodge’s IDP value, while Barnett’s would sink badly. Hodge is currently lining up as the backup MLB, but Barnett may move outside if the team isn’t impressed by strong-side candidates Ben Taylor and Roy Manning.

Packers LB Abdul Hodge will not start at linebacker as a rookie.
There was talk the team would move Nick Barnett to the outside to put Hodge in the middle. They will probably wait until 2007 to make the talented player a starter.

Packers LB Abdul Hodge is in danger of being waived or placed on injured reserve due to ongoing tendinitis in his knee.
The once-promising third-round pick has fallen behind seventh-rounder Desmond Bishop and starter Nick Barnett at middle linebacker. Hodge had an excellent rookie camp, but hasn’t made many big plays this time around.

Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said Thursday that second-year LB Abdul Hodge is rehabbing a knee injury and will likely miss all of OTAs.
Hodge struggled with a bum knee for much of his rookie year but neither injury required surgery. With Nick Barnett signed long term and Desmond Bishop aboard, the Iowa product doesn’t have a defined role for the future.

Packers LB Abdul Hodge (knee) has resumed practicing.
Hodge got a scare when he was diagnosed with patellar tendonitis near the outset of training camp, but should return to his role behind Nick Barnett.

Aaron Kampman underwent arthroscopic knee surgery this offseason.
Kampman, coming off an All-Pro caliber season, will be limited in Green Bay’s upcoming minicamp along with Abdul Hodge (knee), Arliss Beach (foot), and Robert Ferguson (foot). Kevin Barry (quadriceps) will likely sit out.

Packers LB Abdul Hodge will likely undergo season-ending knee surgery and be placed on injured reserve.
He’ll get a second opinion Wednesday, but thinks his season is over. Hard-hitting rookie Desmond Bishop will likely be Nick Barnett’s new top backup.

Packers LB Abdul Hodge is currently struggling with patellar tendonitis.
He’s being limited and may have been passed on the depth chart by late-round pick Desmond Bishop. Hodge appeared to be a promising rookie last year but his knee troubles are becoming chronic. He may wind up on I.R.

Packers placed LB Abdul Hodge, S Tyrone Culver, and G Tyson Walter on injured reserve, ending their seasons.
Hodge has been a disappointment since being taken in the third round last offseason. The former Iowa Hawkeye will undergo surgery on both knees as he attempts to get back to health and make the club in 2008.
