Raiders WR Dont’e Thornton (concussion) did not participate in Wednesday’s practice.
Thornton is not practicing due to a concussion. The 23-year-old has caught just eight passes this season and has become an afterthought in the pass-catching order. Also not practicing was WR Alex Bachman (thumb), who has primarily been a return specialist this season. Thornton’s potential Week 14 absence does not elevate any other Raiders receiver to be an interesting fantasy play against the Broncos.
  • LV Quarterback #5
Raiders signed QB Cam Miller to their practice squad.
Miller finished with a 38.8 PFF offense grade for his 80 preseason snaps at quarterback. It would be surprising if the Raiders turned to him at any point this season, but perhaps he can take a step forward and show more next preseason. Also joining the Las Vegas practice squad are: WR Alex Bachman, RB Chris Collier, S Terrell Edmunds, DE Jahfari Harvey, WR Shedrick Jackson, LB Matt Jones, DT Treven Ma’ae, G Atonio Mafi, TE Albert Okwuegbunam Jr., TE Carter Runyon, WR Justin Shorter, OL Laki Tasi, S Trey Taylor, CB Greedy Vance, T Dalton Wagner and S JT Woods.
  • LV Quarterback #5
    Raiders waived QB Cam Miller.
Miller was the Raiders’ sixth-round pick, and it seems very likely that the signal-caller will be back with Las Vegas on their practice squad. Tommy Mellott — a former college quarterback who is making the move to wide receiver — was also part of the cuts for the Raiders. The full list of players who won’t make the 53-man roster: aived DT Zach Carter, RB Chris Collier, DE Jahfari Harvey, WR Shedrick Jackson, LB Matt Jones, DT Treven Ma’ae, G Atonio Mafi, RB Sincere McCormick, DE Ovie Oghoufo, TE Carter Runyon, WR Justin Shorter, OL Laki Tasi, S Trey Taylor, CB Greedy Vance, T Dalton Wagner and S JT Woods, WR Alex Bachman, S Terrell Edmunds and TE Albert Okwuegbunam while Lonnie Johnson Jr. was placed on the injured list and designated for return.
  • LV Wide Receiver #81
Alex Bachman caught all three targets for 31 yards in a Week 6 loss to the Steelers.
Bachman saw extra time with both Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers sidelined. He was actually second among all wide receivers in targets but also trailed both running backs and both tight ends. It’s highly unlikely that Bachman will emerge onto the fantasy radar, but fantasy managers in deeper formats can store his name away in case Adams and Meyers continue to miss time.
  • LV Wide Receiver #81
    Giants waived WR Alex Bachman.
Bachman led the NFL in preseason receptions this summer, catching 19 of his 20 targets for 166 yards and two touchdowns in three games. Bachman, an undrafted free agent in 2019 who spent time with the Rams, has a decent chance to land on another team’s practice squad.

  • LV Wide Receiver #81
Wake Forest WR Alex Bachman ran an unofficial 4.40 40-yard dash at his Pro Day.
Bachman (6'0/190) was reportedly the best athlete at the Pro Day, also recording a 10-foot, 7-inch broad jump. He impressed in front of the 31 NFL teams in attendance and even outperformed likely draft-pick Greg Dortch. Bachman had just 370 receiving yards on 30 receptions during the regular season prior to his nuclear 7/171/0 outing in the Birmingham Bowl. He’ll likely have to work his way onto an NFL roster as an undrafted free agent.
  • LV Wide Receiver #81
Wake Forest senior WR Alex Bachman caught seven passes for 171 yards in Saturday’s 37-34 win over Memphis in the Birmingham Bowl.
The Demon Deacons were hit with a major blow when it was announced that star WR Greg Dortch (finger) would not be playing on Saturday, but Bachman showed up in a major way to help mitigate for that loss. The 6-foot, 190-pound senior was consistently rocking Memphis deep and averaged 24.4 yards per reception on the afternoon. This showing was made all the more impressive by the fact that Bachman entered the Birmingham Bowl having caught just 30 passes for 370 yards during the regular season. Heck of a way to go out on your college career, here, kid.
  • LV Wide Receiver #81
Wake Forest senior WR Alex Bachman (hamstring) is available for Saturday’s game against Notre Dame.
Bachman (6'0/190) missed Thursday’s game against Boston College. He’s listed as a starter on the depth chart for the Irish.

Wake Forest senior WR Alex Bachman (hamstring) appears set to return for Saturday’s game against Notre Dame.

  • LV Wide Receiver #81
Wake Forest senior WR Alex Bachman brought in five passes for 62 yards with two scores in a 23-17 overtime win over Tulane on Thursday.
Bachman hauled in both of true freshman Sam Hartman’s touchdown passes; a 10-yard dart in the second quarter, and a 19-yard grab from Hartman in the beginning of the fourth that gave the Demon Deacons a 17-14 lead. The Demon Deacons have plenty of playmakers, but Bachman (6-0/190) came on strong to end the 2017 season, and appears to have a real connection with Hartman. He and Wake Forest are back at it next Saturday against Towson.
