Phillips

Phillips had a couple stints on the team last year as a special teamer. Jones was an undrafted rookie out of Kentucky.

With Willis McGahee, P.J. Daniels, and Cory Ross banged up, the team needed to add training camp depth. Cornerback Anwar Phillips was released to make room on the roster.

Phillips was cut a couple of weeks ago when running back Alex Haynes was picked up. Tackle Isaiah Wiggins was released to create roster space.

Oglesby, who was cut by the Cowboys, previously played for Baltimore in 2005 and 2006. Oglesby has been a special teams guy most of his career.

Phillips, who played opposite Alan Zemaitis at Penn State, spent the last two years on New Orleans’ practice squad. Geathers is Jumpy’s less gifted son.

Baltimore is deep at corner, so he’ll be hard pressed to last long.

The Penn State product will primarily help on special teams.

Phillips appeared to have made the club on Saturday, then got his walking papers Sunday. What a cruel world we live in.

Mattison is new defensive coordinator Greg Mattison’s son. He played college ball at Iowa. Harper was Baltimore’s seventh-round pick in 2008.
