Adrian Peterson (hip pointer) returned to practice Wednesday, but it was a non-contact practice.
Receiver Aundrae Allison (hamstring) also returned after missing a few days. Peterson says he will play in the preseason opener. He’s missed the majority of contact work recently, but the team says they aren’t concerned.
  • JAC Wide Receiver
Troy Williamson was listed as a starter at wide receiver on Minnesota’s first depth chart.
It’s not a surprise, but there were reports early in the offseason Williamson may not make the team. Bobby Wade was listed opposite him, with rookies Sidney Rice and Aundrae Allison next up. It’s the worst group in the league, and Tarvaris Jackson won’t help their stats.
  • TB Wide Receiver
Vikings signed fifth-round WR Aundrae Allison to a four-year contract, including a $180,000 signing bonus.
The former ECU Pirate gained attention at the Senior Bowl with sure hands and blazing speed but fell to the draft’s second day over effort concerns. In a weak receiver group, Allison should challenge for rookie playing time. He’s a deep sleeper in dynasty leagues.
  • DET Wide Receiver
    Broncos signed WR Brian Clark.
The team released KR Domenik Hixon, who dropped a kickoff this week and had called for a fair catch on five of 12 punts this season. Clark, who led the Broncos in kickoff-return yardage last year figures to take over return duties.
  • TB Wide Receiver
Vikings rookie WR Aundrae Allison has made more “eye-popping” plays than the rest of the Minnesota wideouts in camp thus far.
Fellow rookie Sidney Rice is far from polished, so Allison can compete for playing time right away in Minnesota’s wide receiver morass.
  • JAC Wide Receiver
Troy Williamson (personal) missed another practice on Friday, and his status for Sunday’s game against the Chargers is considered “questionable.”
Rookie Aundrae Allison will likely be active on Sunday. Williamson has been dealing with a death in the family and had returned home during the week.
  • JAC Wide Receiver
Vikings WR Troy Williamson felt that he could have played Sunday, despite suffering from post-concussion headaches.
It’s quite possible that Williamson could have played, but that the Vikings no longer consider him one of their top four receivers. Williamson will likely battle rookie WR/KR Aundrae Allison to be active for the rest of the year.
  • TB Wide Receiver
Jets placed WR Aundrae Allison (undisclosed) on injured reserve, ending his season.
He was claimed off waivers from the Vikings at the beginning of camp.
  • TB Wide Receiver
The Vikings will waive WR Aundrae Allison on Tuesday if they can’t trade him by 5:00 p.m.
The 2007 fifth-rounder had fallen behind offseason star Jaymar Johnson in the team’s plans.
  • TB Wide Receiver
    Vikings waived WR Aundrae Allison.
Allison, 23, could get claimed quickly. He was stuck in a quagmire behind Bernard Berrian and Jaymar Johnson, but offers return value and scored on a kickoff in 2007. Allison also has some developmental upside as a receiver.
