Oregon DT Austin Faoliu possesses “good first-step explosiveness” in the opinion of Pro Football Network draft analyst Ian Cummings.
The measurables aren’t great for Faoliu (6'3/300) and that, along with inconsistent production, is why he’s projected to be a Day 3 selection. But a good showing at Oregon’s Pro Day could change that, and it isn’t like Faoliu doesn’t have positive attributes that NFL teams can work with. “Faoliu doesn’t pass the eye test with flying colors, but there are some intriguing traits in his tool chest,” Cummings wrote. “The Oregon defensive tackle brings good first-step explosiveness, and as a run defender, he offers solid strength and mirroring ability against sliding offensive linemen.” Oregon’s Pro Day is scheduled for April 2.

Oregon senior DT Austin Faoliu declared for the 2021 NFL Draft.
Faoliu (6'3/293) appeared in 43 games, starting 22, including six games this season where he posted 21 tackles. In four seasons, the massive defensive lineman tallied 124 tackles, 10.0 TFL, 5.0 sacks and three forced fumbles as a fixture on the Oregon defense. Faoliu received a 65.1 tackling grade and a 64.4 pass rushing grade from PFF. Decent marks, but nothing that jumps off the page. Oregon junior DT Austin Faoliu announced Monday that he is returning to school for his senior season.
Faoliu (6'3/293) appeared in 13 of Oregon’s 14 games this season, tallying 39 total tackles (5.0 for loss), 2.0 sacks and one quarterback hurry. The junior defensive tackle was seen as a likely undrafted free agent had he decided to forego his final season of eligibility, but he’ll be back to improve on that while also looking to help Oregon win a second consecutive Pac-12 title.

Oregon junior DT Austin Faoliu was ejected from Saturday’s game at USC during the first half after picking up two personal foul penalties.
Not only was Faoliu (6'3/293) assessed two personal fouls, but he picked them up on the same play. The junior defensive tackle should be available for Oregon’s next game, November 16 vs. Arizona.

Oregon sophomore DT Austin Faoliu (ankle) is ’50/50' to play on Saturday against Arizona.
Faolius has been hampered by an ankle injury that he suffered against Cal, and while he was able to play against Washington and Washington State, he’s clearly been limited. Consider the 6-foot-3, 285-pound defender a game-time decision for the Ducks for their contest with the Wildcats on Saturday.

Oregon sophomore DT Austin Faoliu (ankle) practiced on Tuesday.
Faoliu (6'3/285) sat out against Cal two weekends ago due to an ankle issue. The Ducks were off on bye for Week 6, allowing him a little extra time to heal up. Oregon HC Mario Cristobal has already said that he expects the sophomore lineman to be “good to go” for Saturday’s showdown with Washington. If there’s any late setback, we’ll pass along word.

Oregon HC Mario Cristobal declared sophomore DT Austin Faoliu (ankle) “good to go” for Saturday’s game against Washington.
Faoliu started the first four games of the 2018 season but missed the Cal game with the injury. The former four-star recruit has made 15 tackles thus far.

Oregon HC Mario Cristobal said that sophomore DT Austin Faoliu (ankle) was a 50-50 proposition for Saturday’s game against Cal.
Faoliu (6'4/285) has yet to miss a game this season. We’ll have to wait until later in the practice week to see if that healthy trend will continue through the weekend. This season, the former four-star recruit has registered 15 tackles. Drayton Carlberg, a junior, is listed as Faoliu’s backup on this week’s depth chart.

Oregon received a verbal commitment from three-star 2017 DT Austin Faoliu.
Faoliu made his Ducks commitment at the Polynesian Bowl over the weekend. He opted for Oregon over Oklahoma, Michigan State and Texas -- this despite the fact that the 6-foot-4, 285-pounder has yet to visit Eugene (that will come next weekend). He was actually fresh off an official visit to the Sooners at the time he made his opposite pledge. Scout.com’s Blair Angulo was impressed with his work during the Polynesian Bowl practice week, writing that Faoliu “show[ed] the agility off the snap and hand quickness that made him one of the hotter prospects in the last month.”
