Jets waived LB Brandon Renkart, P Reggie Hodges, and OT Mike Kracalik.
Undrafted rookie A.J. Trapasso is replacing Hodges, who’s maddeningly inconsistent. Kracalik and Renkart were deep reserves with no shot to start.
  • LAC Quarterback
Colts signed QB Drew Willy, OG Jaimie Thomas, WR Taj Smith, WR John Matthews, LB Brandon Renkart, and CB Terrail Lambert to futures contracts.
These players will be offseason practice bodies for the most part, although Thomas does have potential to be an impact lineman. He would have been drafted in 2009 had he not been injured as a senior at Maryland. Lambert was never much of a cover corner at Notre Dame, but can play special teams.
  • PIT Linebacker
    Colts waived LB Brandon Renkart.
Cut by the Jets last summer, the former Rutgers star spent the majority of last season on the Cardinals practice squad before being picked up by the Colts.
  • PIT Running Back
Steelers waived FB Dwayne Wright, OT Adrian Jones, CB David Pittman, and LB Brandon Renkart.
They also released LB Andre Frazier with an injury settlement. Wright was claimed off waivers a month ago, but he failed to beat out Frank Summers and Sean McHugh for a lead-blocking role. Jones isn’t long for the NFL if he couldn’t land a job on the Steelers’ offensive line.
  • PIT Linebacker
    Steelers signed LB Brandon Renkart.
Renkart spent time on the Cardinals and Colts’ practice squads last season after going undrafted out of Rutgers. With rookie Jason Worilds nursing a minor hamstring injury, Renkart will serve as a camp body.
