Saints signed QB Brett Hundley to the practice squad.
Hundley signed with the Ravens in May but was released during training camp. Jake Luton was released from the Saints’ practice squad earlier in the day, creating an opening for Hundley. The UCLA alum hasn’t taken a regular season snap since 2019.

    Ravens signed QB Brett Hundley.
Hundley played with the Colts in 2021 but was released in November when the Colts decided to move forward with Sam Ehlinger as their backup. Hundley is unlikely to displace Tyler Huntley as the Ravens’ backup but will provide the Ravens with an extra arm with Lamar Jackson sitting out of voluntary OTAs.

    Colts released QB Brett Hundley.
With Jacob Eason also released as of two weeks ago, Sam Ehlinger will now serve as the Colts’ backup to Carson Wentz. Ehlinger was activated from injured reserve recently and is now up to speed after being sidelined for the start of the season with a knee injury. Ehlinger is a sixth-round rookie from Texas who is top three in Longhorns’ history in most passing categories, including yards (11,436) and touchdowns (94).

Colts elevated QB Brett Hundley to their active roster Saturday.
Carson Wentz will be a game time decision on Sunday, and has a good chance to start. At the very least, Hundley provides the Colts with in-game insurance if Wentz can’t finish the game. If Wentz can’t play, it’s possible that Hundley gets the start, which would be his first since 2017. The Colts also elevated WR DeMichael Harris.

Colts coach Frank Reich would not commit to Jacob Eason starting in Week 3 against the Titans.
Brett Hundley took a majority of Indianapolis’ first-team reps in practice throughout the week and appears in line to handle most of (if not all) the snaps from under center if Carson Wentz (ankles, questionable) is ruled out. It’s a tough spot for all through the air given Hundley’s (and Wentz’s) outlook. Managers should downgrade Michael Pittman as a WR5/6, especially with Parris Campbell cleared from the team’s final injury report.

Carson Wentz (ankles) will be game-time decision for Week 3 against the Titans.
Wentz appeared to be moving around well in practice Friday and he unexpectedly has a chance to play Sunday. If Wentz cannot go, The Herald Bulletin’s George Bremer reports that Frank Reich declined to name Jacob Eason his starter. Meaning, Brett Hundley could end up starting for the Colts Sunday. Eason and Hundley would both be major downgrades from Wentz, even at less than full health. Jonathan Taylor’s fantasy managers should closely monitor Wentz’s status ahead of kickoff.

Carson Wentz (ankles) returned to practice Friday.
Every sign pointed to Wentz missing the Colts’ Week 3 game against Tennessee until he made a rather shocking return to practice on Friday morning. Dealing with two sprained ankles -- including one high ankle sprain -- Wentz has a shot to suit up against the Titans this Sunday. Both of his ankles were reportedly heavily wrapped during Friday’s practice session. The Colts were toying with the idea of playing both Jacob Eason and Brett Hundley if Wentz couldn’t go. Jonathan Taylor would be the only startable Indy player if Wentz indeed sits this week, and the woeful Titans defense would be an ideal streaming option.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports the Colts “may” play both Brett Hundley and Jacob Eason if Carson Wentz (ankles) is out for Week 3 against the Titans.
Hundley took the majority of first-team reps in practice Wednesday and could split time with Eason, who threw an interception on just five pass attempts in mop-up duty for Wentz against the Rams. It’s obviously a terrible situation to be in for an organization that has already struggled through injuries to an 0-2 start. Tennessee’s D/ST, rostered in only 9% of Yahoo leagues, remains the best pivot. Michael Pittman should also be downgraded to a WR4/5 in Week 3 once Wentz, who failed to participate in Wednesday’s walkthrough, is inevitably ruled out.

107.5 The Fan’s Kevin Bowen reports the Colts are “approaching this week as if they will not have Carson Wentz on Sunday.”
Coach Frank Reich said Wentz won’t play on Sunday barring a “surprise” as the 28-year-old did not take part in Wednesday’s practice or the team’s walk-through. Reich also said he’s never had a quarterback miss the entire week of practice, which Wentz is ominously headed for, and play that Sunday. Even so, Indy’s coach wouldn’t confirm whether Jacob Eason or practice-squad call-up Brett Hundley would start against the Titans. All signs point to Tennessee’s D/ST surging as a top streaming option on the week.

    Colts released QB Brett Hundley.
Colts coach Frank Reich had already named Jacob Eason the backup to Carson Wentz so Hundley was doomed to be a causality of final cuts. Hundley has nine starts under his belt and experience with four different teams. At 28 years old, Hundley will draw interest as a practice squad passer once rosters are sorted out. The Colts also waived/released WR Tarik Black, LB Curtis Bolton, DT Andrew Brown, CB Anthony Chesley, DT Kameron Kline, S Shawn Davis, OG Jake Eldrenkamp, TE Farrod Green, WR DeMichael Harris, CB Holton Hill, RB Deon Jackson LB, Malik Jefferson, LB Isaiah Kaufusi, RB Benny LeMay, OT Carter O’Donnell, WR Tyler Vaughns, TE Kahale Warring, S Ibraheim Campbell, S Sean Davis, OT Will Holden and C Joey Hunt.
