George Holani rushed three times for four yards in the Seahawks’ NFC Championship win over the Rams, adding three catches for 27 yards on four targets.
He played 23 snaps to Cam Akers’ one, so Holani looks like a safe bet to be Seattle’s backup runner in Super Bowl LX. Holani had 15 receiving yards in the regular season and 27 here, so it seems like the Seahawks trust him to handle passing-down responsibilities in Zach Charbonnet’s absence. He might be a reasonable punt play in DFS lineups in two weeks.
  • SEA Running Back #36
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports George Holani and Cam Akers “are expected to be used in backup roles, with some work expected for each player.”
With Zach Charbonnet out for the remainder of the postseason because of a torn ACL, the Seahawks are considerably thin at RB2. Holani was just activated off injured reserve and Akers didn’t join the team until the middle of the season. Akers does not have a carry with Seattle this year and Holani has just 22 attempts. Though we do buy that both backs will see the field today, it’s hard to imagine Seattle doing anything other than leaning on Kenneth Walker. Walker gashed the 49ers for 116 yards and three scores on 19 carries last week. He remains the top fantasy option at running back for the Conference Championship slate.

Seahawks activated George Holani (hamstring) off injured reserve.
Holani will likely see RB2 reps — at least some of them — behind Kenneth Walker against the Rams on Sunday. He’ll be an interesting DFS punt. Velus Jones and Cam Akers are also on the roster, and one of them will probably be inactive on Sunday if Holani is up.
  • SEA Running Back #36
Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said RB George Holani (hamstring) is “readying” himself for the “role behind” RB Kenneth Walker.
Macdonald’s phrasing suggests Holani, not RB Cam Akers nor RB Velus Jones, would operate as the team’s No. 2 running back behind Walker, with former No. 2 RB Zach Charbonnet sidelined by a season-ending ACL tear. Macdonald adds that it is “realistic” for Holani to play this week. He has a chance to take on pass-protection duties while chipping in as a rotational ballcarrier.
  • SEA Running Back #30
Seahawks elevated RB Cam Akers and CB Tyler Hall for Week 18 against the 49ers.
Akers will be the third running back for the season finale versus San Francisco behind Kenneth Walker and Zack Charbonnet.
  • FA Running Back #30
    Seahawks waived RB Cam Akers.
Akers rushed five times for five yards and caught 0-of-1 targets in his time with the Seahawks. Griffin recorded zero pass breakups and zero interceptions on 56 coverage snaps. Both players could find spots on practice squads.
  • SEA Running Back #30
Seahawks declared RB Cam Akers, WR Jake Bobo, CB Shaquill Griffin, LB Jared Ivey, QB Jalen Milroe, LB Connor O’Toole, and OT Mason Richman inactive for Week 13 against the Vikings.
Akers, who signed with the Seahawks on Wednesday, will be a healthy scratch for now, leaving Zach Charbonnet and Ken Walker as the team’s rushers for another week. Walker last week saw an uptick in usage and should be a flex option Sunday against the Vikings. Akers is a decent bench stash in deeper leagues for now.
  • SEA Running Back #31
Seahawks signed RB Cam Akers, formerly of the Vikings.
Seahawks third-string running back George Holani is a candidate for injured reserve after suffering a hamstring injury in Week 12. Assuming he is placed on IR, Akers will take over his role for at least four games. The consummate system-knower, Akers has never directly crossed paths with Seahawks OC Klint Kubiak, but has spent most of his career in similar systems via Sean McVay and Kevin O’Connell.
  • MIN Running Back #31
Cam Akers completed his only pass attempt for 32 yards and a touchdown in the Vikings’ Week 5 win over the Browns.
You read that correctly. Akers’ only touch of the day was a trick play that saw him throw a dime to backup tight end Josh Oliver for a touchdown. When talking about the play call, Kevin O’Connell mentioned scouting Akers coming out of college during his days with the Rams. Akers went 5-of-8 for 97 yards as a passer at Florida State. There’s no fantasy value to be had for Akers, but we’re happy for him.
  • MIN Running Back #36
Zavier Scott rushed eight times for 30 yards in the Vikings’ Week 3 win over the Bengals, adding a 19-yard reception.
With Jordan Mason operating as the clear bell-cow in the absence of Aaron Jones (hamstring, injured reserve), Scott out-touched practice squad promotee Cam Akers 9-5. He out-gained him 49-19. With Jones out at least three more games, Scott looks like he would lead any potential committee were Mason to also go down with injury.
