It’s desperate times in Baltimore. Slaughter couldn’t make Oakland’s roster last year, and that’s never a good sign. He spent the year out of football. The Ravens originally pursued John Welbourn, another used up street body.

He’ll compete for a backup job once again in Oakland.

Slaughter performed well in a week 16 emergency start against Michael Strahan.

Robert Gallery is out with a strained quad. In six seasons, Slaughter has one career start.

Slaughter, a 6-8 monstrosity who has one career start in six years as a pro, has been riding the Raiders’ bench the past three seasons. Make sure Terrell Suggs is in your IDP lineup for Week 2.

Kracalik is a practice squad type and Slaughter an ex-construction worker who couldn’t make the Raiders. Projected LT Jared Gaither and RT Adam Terry are still hurt. Gaither’s desire has been questioned by the Baltimore media. If he doesn’t step up, this offense is near certain to struggle in 2008.

Prude was a contributor the past two seasons, but never got much better. Stills’ loss could hurt on special teams. Patrick was a seventh-round pick.

Slaughter didn’t make the Ravens out of training camp, but they are very concerned with their offensive tackle situation. Baltimore may be without LT Jared Gaither (shoulder) against Trent Cole and the Eagles in Week 12.
