Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said that LB Cullen Gillapsia’s (knee) injury looks like it “could be serious.”
Gillaspia is purely a special teamer for the Seahawks, but it looks like they might be in the market for a replacement. Carroll is generally optimistic on injuries. We’re not expecting good news on this one.

  • FA Running Back
Giants signed FB Cullen Gillaspia, formerly of the Texans.
He was recently released with a failed physical designation after missing time last year with a back injury. He’ll primarily play on special teams, as he did in Houston the past two seasons, with a few snaps in Jason Garrett’s outdated I-form offense sprinkled in between.

    Texans waived FB Cullen Gillaspia.
Gillaspia was released with a failed physical. The 2019 seventh-rounder was a full-time special teams member in Houston, playing just seven snaps in seven healthy games last season.

  • FA Running Back
Texans coach Bill O’Brien said seventh-round pick Cullen Gillaspia will start at fullback.
There’s no real competition for Gillaspia after the Texans didn’t carry a fullback last year. It’s potentially bad news for on-the-bubble TE Ryan Griffin, who’s spot was already in question. Gillaspia should make his biggest on special teams.
  • FA Running Back
Texans selected Texas A&M FB Cullen Gillaspia with the No. 220 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
This appears to be a special teams selection, as Gillaspia was a swiss army knife or sorts for the Aggies. He caught five passes for 52 yards in all of 2018 while also making six tackles on special teams. He did wear the 12th Man jersey in 2017 as a team captain. The former walk-on likely will be listed as a fullback.
