Cardinals selected West Virginia DT Dante Stills with the No. 213 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
The Mountaineers’ defensive stalwart (6’3.75/293) is a savvy DT who doesn’t possess any noteworthy athletic skills but still gets the job done. In his five years in Morgantown, he has been fairly productive, averaging over 10 tackles for Loss a year, and earned a Freshman All-American nod. He would go on to earn all-conference honors every year after that. Stills may be a little light, but makes up for it with his knack for jumping snap counts, sliding by blockers using low leverage and a good shoulder dip move. He will need to gain mass and strength at the next level as NFL blockers won’t be so impatient as Big 12 linemen. He projects as a rotational 3Tech that will shoot gaps in passing situations.
