Bootle, 27, was signed in the middle of July, and didn’t stick around past the summer. The speedy corner will now be free to sign with another team, but is likely just roster-fodder at this point.

Bootle (5'10/195) had himself a day as, in addition to the fast 40 time, he also recorded a 36.5-inch vertical, a 10-foot, 7-inch broad jump and 16 reps in the bench press. A third team all-Big Ten selection in 2018, Bootle earned honorable mention honors in both 2019 and 2020. He has been projected by multiple draft analysts as a likely UDFA, but Bootle’s showing at Nebraska’s Pro Day may get him on the radar as a possible late-Day 3 selection.
