ESPN’s Tom VanHaaren calls Notre Dame redshirt sophomore LB Drew White the most unheralded star for the Fighting Irish in 2020.
White was a solid -- and as VanHaaren notes, unheralded -- part of the Fighting Irish’s defense in 2020; registering 80 tackles which tied for the for the team lead in 2019. ". White also had eight tackles for loss, including two sacks, and has become one of Notre Dame’s leaders on defense,” VanHaaren writes.” With a nose for a football and an ability to make plays behind the line of scrimmage, White is likely to be one of the top linebackers in the country in 2020, and is one of the reasons Notre Dame could compete for a playoff spot this fall.
