The Colts would like Edgerrin James to practice today to test his sore hamstring.
James is listed as questionable and did not practice Wednesday. Coach Tony Dungy on the matter:"I would not anticipate him playing, but if he practices (today), that’s a step towards playing.”

Edgerrin James is confident he’ll be able to play on Sunday.
Despite the second-degree tear of his hamstring, James is out to prove he’ll be ready in practice this week. The Colts will have a better idea after Wednesday and Thursday practice. But James is sounding more questionable than doubtful to us. On another note, James explained why the Colts went for a late, meaningless TD on Sunday- “The fantasy football people would have been mad at me,” he said. “I had to please the fantasy guys.” We love you too, Edge.

As expected, Edgerrin James will sit out the Colts preseason finale.
Edge is as tired of the preseason as we are. He’s healthy and is still a top ten overall fantasy pick.

Colts owner Jim Irsay says he will keep Edgerrin James and Marvin Harrison in Indianapolis this season.
“I look at both of those guys being here (in 2005),” Irsay said. “I told you on Peyton that he wasn’t going anywhere, and he didn’t.” It will be very tough to pull off under the salary cap.

Edgerrin James has taken the NFL lead in rushing yards (1,395) and yards from scrimmage (1,814)..
He’s on pace for career highs and should top 2,000 total yards with ease. SI’s Peter King believes James will head to the Bucs next season.

Edgerrin James felt fine after returning to practice Thursday.
“It felt better than I thought it was going to feel,” he said. “I’m right where I need to be (on) Thursday.”

Edgerrin James missed Colts practice Monday because of bruised thigh.
Coach Tony Dungy said he didn’t think it will be a big concern. “We’ll probably know a little more Wednesday,” Dungy said.

Edgerrin James is expected to return to Colts practice Thursday.
He skipped Monday and Wednesday’s workout because of a bruised thigh. James should carve up a depleted Tennessee defense this weekend.

Edgerrin James trails Shaun Alexander by just four yards for the NFL rushing lead.
If he can overtake Alexander -- and James’ schedule is more favorable in that regard -- he would be just the sixth RB since the merger to win more than two rushing titles. James owners get a little testy when all the Colts’ TDs are on pass plays, but that just makes his rushing accomplishments all the more noteworthy.

Colts owner Jim Irsay says he doesn’t think there is “a chance” that Edgerrin James won’t be with the team next year.
Irsay has kept his promises so far. It looks very possible that James could be retained with a one-year franchise player tender.
