ESPN’s Matt Bowen believes RB Mike Washington Jr. would fit well in the Seahawks offense.
Washington, after excelling at the NFL Combine, has been linked to a few teams, including the Broncos. Bowen said Washington, who went for 1,070 yards and eight touchdowns at Arkansas in 2025, would be a solid fit for Seattle’s offense. “Under new coordinator Brian Fleury — who coached with Kyle Shanahan in San Francisco — we should expect a run game that leans on motion and movement in both zone and gap concepts,” Bowen said, adding that Washington would likely be a Day Two pick. “Washington has the lateral agility to fit in that scheme, and he can dart through daylight with his 4.33 speed. His frame can handle NFL volume, plus he can produce on swings and screens as a pass catcher.” The Seahawks backfield is in flux after Ken Walker left for Kansas City in free agency and Zach Charbonnet continues to recover from a late-season knee injury. The Seahawks signed former Packers RB Emanuel Wilson in free agency. Washington would make sense for Seattle if the team looks to bolster its backfield in the second or third round.

Seahawks HC Mike Macdonald said Zach Charbonnet (knee) is “not going to miss the whole year.”
Charbonnet suffered a torn ACL in the Seahawks’ divisional round win over the 49ers last postseason, and didn’t have surgery to repair the injury until February. While there were concerns that Charbonnet may miss all of 2026 due to the timing of his injury and the surgery Macdonald confirmed that he expects to have the fourth-year RB back at some point this season. In the meantime, the loss of Kenneth Walker, combined with Charbonnet’s injury, puts the Seahawks in a unique position at RB to start the year. The team did go out and add Emanuel Wilson via free agency earlier this month, but the Seahawks could be in play for a Day 2 rookie at the position to pair with Wilson, George Holani, and a slew of other backups until Charbonnet is able to return. Charbonnet rushed for a career-high 730 yards and 12 touchdowns last season with the Seahawks and will presumably serve as their RB1 once healthy, but he’s a near lock to open the season on the PUP list, and could miss extensive time to start the year.

Seahawks general manager John Schneider complimented RB George Holani’s “elite” pass protection and clutch catches in the playoffs.
Per The Athletic’s Mike Dugar, Schneider “once again brought up Holani unprompted.” Schneider punctuated his thoughts on Holani by saying, “every time he goes in the game, he just performs.” Earlier this week, Dugar said he believes the Seahawks will “probably” use one of their first three picks on a running back, but left Holani out of his comments while exploring the topic. Today, the Seahawks signed former Packers RB Emanuel Wilson, a burly rusher who played well as a backup and fill-in starter last season. The Seahawks used RB Kenneth Walker, now a Chief, as their lead rusher. No. 2 RB Zach Charbonnet, currently rehabbing a torn ACL, led the way on passing downs and in short-yardage and green zone situations. His return date is unknown. Wilson and Holani are a lesser duo, so Dugar’s draft-day expectations have decent odds of coming to fruition. Perhaps Holani will get a chance to compete for a receiving role, though.

Seahawks general manager John Schneider said RB Zach Charbonnet’s (knee) “surgery went very well.”
Schneider added that Charbonnet’s “outlook is good” before complimenting the running back’s “professionalism, work ethic, etc.” The Seahawks signed the former Packers RB Emanuel Wilson earlier today, who could compete for carries early on if Charbonnet is not ready to play in Week 1. No word yet on Charbonnet’s expected spring and summer participation level.
  • SEA Running Back #23
Seahawks signed RB Emanuel Wilson, formerly of the Packers, to a one-year contract.
The former undrafted free agent concluded a three-year run with the Packers by banking career highs in carries (125), targets (17), receptions (15) and receiving yards (99). He finished as a half-PPR RB3 twice, as an RB2 twice and as an RB1 once. The Seahawks will likely continue adding players to their backfield, but with RB Kenneth Walker now on the Chiefs’ roster and RB Zach Charbonnet rehabbing a torn ACL, Wilson is tentatively in line for early-season usage, if not longer. This is a good landing spot for the capable rotational player. The deal is worth up to $2.1 million.

Packers did not tender restricted free agent RB Emanuel Wilson, making him a free agent
This is a calculated ploy by the Packers, but we’re still a little surprised they did this after Wilson rushed for 496 yards on 125 carries and generally played as a pretty good backup runner. It leaves MarShawn Lloyd and Chris Brooks as backups behind Josh Jacobs. Wilson turns 27 in May and should be able to find work elsewhere if he doesn’t wind up back with the Packers.

Emanuel Wilson rushed once for three yards in the Packers’ Wild Card Round loss to the Bears.
Wilson was not involved in the Packers’ gameplan, nor was Chris Brooks who finished with one carry for 16 yards and a catch that went for 11. He wasn’t terribly efficient in his work in the regular season, either, finishing with a 4.0 YPC and 496 yards on his 125 attempts with 15 receptions for 99 for good measure. He’ll be an RFA this winter, and it’s likely he’ll just be a backup tailback whether he’s back with the Packers or joins a new club.

Emanuel Wilson had 18 rushes for 44 yards in the Packers’ Week 18 loss against the Vikings, adding one catch for four yards.
Wilson got the start in Week 18 with Josh Jacobs resting his various leg injuries ahead of the postseason. Wilson had an efficient day if you eliminate an 18-yard loss on a third quarter rushing attempt where Wilson kept reversing field looking for some kind of opening. Wilson will return to his RB2 role behind Jacobs in the postseason.

Josh Jacobs is inactive for Week 18 against the Vikings.
Jacobs, dealing with knee and ankle issues for the past month, will try to heal up before Green Bay’s Wild Card game next weekend. He’s one of many Packers starters declared inactive for a mostly meaningless Week 18 game. Emanuel Wilson could see a solid workload with Jacobs sidelined, though Chris Brooks could mix in so Wilson will be healthy for the postseason.

Packers RB Josh Jacobs (knee/ankle) is not on the injury report for Week 18 against Vikings.
Jacobs will be available if the Packers need him. Yesterday, Packers RB coach Ben Sirmans indicated Jacobs won’t play much, if at all, though. Either No. 2 Emanuel Wilson or No. 3 RB Chris Brooks will lead the backfield in touches. Wilson has played a key role in the Packers’ offense this season. He could join Jacobs in the proverbial bubble wrap on the sideline this week. If so, Brooks warrants RB2/3 consideration.
