He will miss at least two weeks, if not longer. The Giants are pretty well stocked at defensive end though.

Moore was signed just 10 days ago, but the move is a bit surprising since it comes only one day after fellow DE Andre Carter was sent to injured reserve. Moore has been held off the stat-sheet in two games this season.

One of the Patriots’ final cuts, Moore has spent the year in the UFL. A former sixth-round pick, Moore has 45 tackles and four sacks over 33 career games with four different teams. Although he saw significant playing time for the Pats down the stretch in 2010, his snaps should mostly be limited to special teams.

Moore will be a solid second or third round pick for a team like the Browns that hope to convert him to a 3-4 outside linebacker. Members of the Browns organization flew out to meet him at the Hula Bowl.

He could move to outside linebacker at the pro level.

The loser of the battle is expected to be cut, but should probably be good enough to help another team.

The 6-4/262-pound Moore is known as a pass rusher, and that’s it. He might eat into recently promoted Victor Adeyanju’s repetitions at the left end.
