Chiefs placed DE Felix Anudike-Uzomah (hamstring) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Anudike-Uzomah was a first-round pick of the Chiefs back in 2023 and has totaled three career sacks in the 34 games he’s appeared in this season. He has yet to live up to the hype that made him a top pick and will now hope to rebound in 2026 in what will be a contract year.

Chiefs signed EDGE Felix Anudike-Uzomah to a four-year contract.
The Chiefs selected Anudike-Uzomah with the No. 31 overall pick in the draft, adding to a defense that finished second in the league in sacks last season (55). Anudike-Uzomah totaled 19.5 sacks in his final two years at Kansas State and posted an impressive 8.73 RAS during the pre-draft process. A high-motor rusher off the EDGE, Anudike-Uzomah could slot in as a starter at some point in the season, but should immediately see the field as a situational pass rusher.

Chiefs HC Andy Reid said EDGE Felix Anudike-Uzomah underwent thumb surgery before the draft and could be back by OTAs.
At worst, this should be a minor issue for Anudike-Uzomah, who the Chiefs selected with the No. 31 overall pick in this year’s draft. The former Kansas State EDGE rusher totaled 19.5 sacks in his final two seasons with the Wildcats and is expected to immediately contribute for the Chiefs this season. Unless this injury lingers further into the offseason, this is likely the last time we’ll talk about it.

  • KC Defensive End #91
Chiefs selected Kansas State EDGE Felix Anudike-Uzoma with the No. 31 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
In 2020, Anudike-Uzomah (6’3/255) arrived on campus at the only Power Five to offer him a scholarship as a spindly 220-pound project. By 2021, he had added 30 pounds while starting every game for the Wildcats producing 51 tackles, 14.5 tackles for a loss, 11 sacks, and an FBS-leading six forced fumbles. He then doubled down on his breakout season by earning the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year Award to go with Second Team All-American recognition. A fully formed defensive end who uses stifling long arm and push-pull techniques to stun opponents and burrow his way to the quarterback, Anudike-Uzomah has functional play strength but can struggle to disengage and has average foot speed which can stall out his rushes. He avoided any running tests but posted a 4.34s shuttle (81st percentile) and a blazing 6.94 3-Cone (96th percentile) for a projectable 8.73 relative athletic score (RAS). A highly productive player with a hot running motor who profiles as a 4-3 edge with three-down potential, Anudike-Uzomah has starter upside.
