Saints signed RB Chris Taylor, WR Andy Tanner, OT Phil Trautwein, OT Fenuki Tupou, DB Kamaal McIlwain, and NT Mitch King to reserve/futures contracts.
Undrafted out of Indiana all the way back in 2006, Taylor last suited up for the Texans in the 2008 season. He’s rushed for 160 yards on 42 carries (3.8 YPC) in seven career games. Taylor won’t earn a spot in the Saints’ crowded backfield next season.
  • NO Tackle #72
Saints placed OT Fenuki Tupou (triceps) and LB Chris Chamberlain (torn ACL) on injured reserve, ending their seasons.
Tupou’s injury appears to be a torn triceps, while Chamberlain tore his ACL in the Saints’ second exhibition game. Tupou has never played in an NFL game.
  • NO Tackle #72
Eagles signed fifth-round OT Fenuki Tupou to a four-year contract.
The fifth-round pick out of Oregon’s spread offense will be groomed as quality depth with Jason Peters and the Andrews brothers expected to hold down Philly’s tackle spots for the next half decade.
  • NO Tackle #72
Eagles placed OT Fenuki Tupou (chest) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Tupou was the Birds’ fifth-round pick this season. He’s unlikely to ever put Jason Peters or Shawn Andrews out of a job.
  • FA Tackle #77
Eagles OTs King Dunlap and Fenuki Tupou left Thursday’s preseason opener with knee injuries and did not return.
They were quickly ruled out for the night, Dunlap with a “twisted” knee and Tupou with what the Eagles are initially calling an MCL sprain. Both players were fighting for roster spots, Tupou in particular. Dunlap has started games before, but the team’s numerous offseason additions put him on the bubble.
  • NO Tackle #72
    Eagles waived OT Fenuki Tupou.
The developmental project hasn’t progressed as the Eagles have hoped.
