Bucs DT Gerald McCoy left Sunday’s game against the Niners with an apparent foot/ankle injury and did not return.
He walked off the field with the help of trainers and returned later in a walking boot. Frank Gore has rushed for 28 yards and a touchdown mid-way through the second quarter, and with S.F. holding a 21-3 lead he is set up for a nice fantasy afternoon. Frank Okam took McCoy’s place at DT.

Bucs promoted DT Frank Okam from the practice squad.
Okam was waived on Nov. 22 after making 10 tackles in six games earlier this season. He’ll provide depth along Tampa’s defensive line after DT John McCargo was placed on injured reserve Monday.

Buccaneers declared DL Frank Okam, OG Jeremy Zuttah, WR Sammie Stroughter, CB Myron Lewis, LB Zac Diles, OT James Lee, and DE Tim Crowder inactive for Week 9 against the Saints.
Tampa Bay is relatively healthy coming off their bye. Okam did not participate in practice all week and was considered a long-shot to play. Roy Miller will provide depth behind Brian Price and Gerald McCoy. Ted Larsen will fill-in for Zuttah on the offensive line.
  • Coaching Staff
    Bucs waived DT Frank Okam.
The coaches must be satisfied with Albert Haynesworth at defensive tackle. Okam recorded 10 tackles in six games with the Bucs this season.
  • Coaching Staff
Giants signed DT Frank Okam, formerly of the Bucs.
Okam, 27, has appeared in 25 career games, making 33 tackles. A 2008 fifth-round pick of the Texans, Okam was out of the league in 2012. He faces extremely long odds of cracking the final 53 on a deep interior line in New York.
  • Coaching Staff
Texans DT Frank Okam said he’s looking to compete for a starting job after taking advantage of the additional reps he got during OTAs when Travis Johnson was on the sidelines.
Okam slimmed down by 25 pounds after his rookie season and said he is coming into this training camp in much better shape. He’ll compete with Johnson and Deljuan Robinson for snaps.

Texans starting DT Shaun Cody is out for Sunday’s game against the Bengals due to the flu.
Cedric Benson gets a small boost with Cody out. Frank Okam is expected to draw the start, with DelJuan Robinson also getting snaps.
  • Coaching Staff
Rookie DT Frank Okam will draw the start for the Texans in place of Shaun Cody (flu) on Sunday.
The wide-bodied fifth-rounder out of Texas will start next to Amobi Okoye in the middle for the Texans, as they try to contain the league’s leading rusher, Cedric Benson. Expect a big day out of Benson today for the Bengals.
  • Coaching Staff
Texans signed fifth-round DT Frank Okam to a four-year contract. The deal includes a $178,000 signing bonus.
At 6'5/320, Okam is ideally built to play nose in Houston’s 4-3 scheme. He’ll compete there with Travis Johnson, who is recovering from a pelvic injury.

ProFootballTalk cites a Scout.com report that Texans DT Amobi Okoye will miss Sunday’s game against the Ravens with a high ankle sprain.
The Texans will also be without leading tackler Zach Diles, which benefits the Ravens rushing trio headlined by Ray Rice. Veteran Jeff Zgonina and rookie Frank Okam will fill in for Okoye.
