Eagles CB Darius Slay left Week 8 against the Bengals with an apparent groin injury.
Slay limped off the field in the third quarter of the Eagles’ Week 8 game against the Bengals, heading into the locker room. The Eagles listed him as questionable to return, though he was subsequently ruled out. Isaiah Rodgers, Cooper DeJean, and Quinyon Mitchell are the corners rotating into the game for the Eagles with the tall task of covering Ja’Marr Chase on the table. Rodgers deflected a Joe Burrow pass to Chase for a Chauncey Gardner-Johnson interception in relief of Slay.
  • PHI Defensive Tackle #93
Eagles DT Milton Williams (foot) was limited in Friday’s practice.
The quietly productive defensive tackle was added to the injury report this week after practicing with a clean bill of health in Week 1. His consecutive limited participant designations are a positive sign for his Monday night availability. CB Isaiah Rodgers (hand) and LB Devin White (ankle) continued practicing in full. Backup LT Fred Johnson (thumb)
  • PHI Cornerback #34
Eagles CB Isaiah Rodgers (hand) is out for Week 1 against the Packers.
The Eagles’ front office bolstered the secondary by spending first- and second-round draft picks on CBs Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean this offseason, softening the loss of Rodgers for Week 1. Rodgers logged three straight limited participant designations this week so he is likely to return in time for Week 2.
  • PHI Defensive Back #34
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the NFL has reinstated Isaiah Rodgers.
Rodgers will return to the field in 2024 after serving a season-long suspension for violating the league’s gambling policy. He’ll be able to participate in team activities immediately. Rodgers looks to provide depth in an Eagles’ defensive backfield that needed help severely. He also serves as a kick returner.
  • PHI Defensive Back #34
Eagles signed DB Isaiah Rodgers, formerly of the Colts.
Rodgers was suspended by the league for the 2023 season after violating the league’s gambling protocol. The former sixth-round pick was a key contributor for the Colts’ special teams unit last season and could play in a similar role for the Eagles in 2024 if the league opts to reinstate him. Rodgers will revert to the reserve/suspended list for this season.
  • FA Defensive Back #34
    Colts waived DB Isaiah Rodgers.
Rodgers was handed an indefinite suspension for betting on NFL games and was let go shortly after the penalty was handed down. The former sixth-round pick will miss at least the 2023 season but could be forced to sit out longer, given his violation of league rules. His teammate, Rashod Berry, was also let go by the team after he received the same indefinite suspension as Rodgers. Rodgers could eventually catch on with a team once reinstated, while Berry hasn’t appeared in a regular season game since 2021.
  • IND Defensive Back #34
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Colts kick returner Isaiah Rodgers has received an indefinite suspension for violating the league’s gambling protocol.
Rodgers and his teammate, Rashod Berry, have both been hit with indefinite suspensions that will amount to a minimum of one year. Free agent defensive tackle Demetrius Taylor was also hit with the same indefinite suspension. While we knew a suspension was coming for Rodgers, Berry, and Harvey were two of the players who had yet to be named as rumors of incoming suspensions mounted. Their indefinite suspension comes after it was determined they bet on NFL games, which is a clear violation of the league’s policy. Rodgers was a key contributor to the Colts’ special teams unit last season, while Berry and Taylor have appeared in a combined nine games since 2021.
  • IND Defensive Back #34
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Colts kick returner Isaiah Rodgers is expected to receive a year-long suspension for violating the league’s gambling protocol.
Schefter said Rogers would be among a handful of NFL players who would be suspended for the 2023 season after running afoul of the league’s gambling policy. Many players and coaches have said this offseason that they were not aware of the NFL’s prohibition against gambling as sports gambling is legalized in states across the US. Rodgers has appeared in 45 games as a pro, including 10 starts, nine of which came last season. He’s listed as a cornerback on the Colts depth chart.
  • PHI Cornerback #34
Colts CB Isaiah Rodgers is reportedly linked to the NFL’s gambling investigation.
A Colts representative spoke Monday, stating, “We are aware of the NFL’s investigation and have no further comment at this time.” In the fourth year of his rookie contract, any lengthy suspension could void the $3.44 million remaining, including $2.743 in guaranteed money. Rodgers has appeared in 45 games as a professional including 10 starts, nine of which came last season. He is currently listed as a starting corner on the team’s unofficial depth chart.

  • PHI Cornerback #34
Colts signed sixth-round CB Isaiah Rodgers to a four-year contract.
Rodgers (5'10/171) is obviously on the extreme small side for an NFL defensive back, but he showed some pretty good ball skills at UMass with 11 interceptions as a four-year contributor. He’ll compete for a roster spot in Indianapolis.
