Eagles placed OLB Nolan Smith on injured reserve.
Smith reportedly re-injured the triceps muscle that he tore during Super Bowl LIX. He underwent surgery to repair the torn tissue this offseason. The Eagles believe Smith will not require surgery and hope to have him back “around” their Week 9 bye. Players placed on injured reserve are eligible to return after missing four games. The Eagles also placed CB Jakorian Bennett and WR Darius Cooper on injured reserve with undisclosed injuries. Both players are likewise expected to avoid surgery and are expected to return around Week 9. The Eagles signed S Marcus Epps, TE Cameron Latu, and CB Parry Nickerson to the active roster, and LB Lance Dixon, DB Eli Ricks, and WR Quez Watkins to the practice squad.

Raiders traded CB Jakorian Bennett to the Eagles for DT Thomas Booker.
The move should be considered a depth move for both franchises as neither player were expected to open the 2025 season as starters. That said, the move makes sense for both teams as it addresses relative weaknesses. We should see more trades go down as teams work through their respective depth charts as we inch closer to the start of the regular season.
  • LV Defensive Back #0
Raiders placed CB Jakorian Bennett (shoulder) on injured reserve.
Bennett is eligible to return in Week 17, so there’s a chance his season is over, as the Raiders will be well out of playoff contention by that time. Bennett has earned a PFF coverage grade of 61.0 this season, but has allowed just 18 receptions for 176 and no touchdowns on 37 targets. In addition to him being out for Week 13, the Raiders will also be down Nate Hobbs (ankle), leaving them without their top two corners vs. the Chiefs.
  • LV Cornerback #39
Raiders CB Nate Hobbs (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday.
Both Hobbs and No. 1 perimeter CB Jakorian Bennett (shoulder) remain sidelined, putting them on the wrong side of questionable for the Raiders’ Week 13 Friday night game against the Chiefs. Hobbs and Bennett are two of the Raiders’ best players. The defense cannot afford to be without them.
  • LV Cornerback #39
Raiders CB Nate Hobbs (ankle) did not participate in Tuesday’s walk-through.
Also out was CB Jakorian Bennett (shoulder). The Raiders secondary struggled without either cornerback in Week 12 against the Broncos and both are trending out again. Hobbs and/or Bennett will need to practice later in the week in order to play Friday, but for now, Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are slated for an extremely favorable matchup in Week 13.
  • LV Defensive Back #0
Raiders CB Jakorian Bennett (shoulder) is out for Week 12 against the Broncos.
Fellow cornerback Nate Hobbs is out with an ankle issue. Jack Jones returned to practice on Friday and will presumably be listed as questionable. Down at least two starting corners, the Raiders are as good of a matchup as Bo Nix could ask for.
  • LV Defensive Back #0
Raiders CB Jakorian Bennett (shoulder) did not practice Wednesday.
Raiders slot CB Nate Hobbs (ankle) and No. 2 perimeter CB Jack Jones (back) were also unable to practice on Wednesday. The development pushes the Broncos’ ascending rookie QB Bo Nix firmly into the QB1 ranks. His pass catchers are likewise on the rise this week.
  • LV Defensive Back #0
Raiders CB Jakorian Bennett exited Week 7 against the Rams with an apparent leg injury.
Update: Bennett has returned to play. Bennett’s seven forced incompletions tie for the fifth-most in the NFL. Decamerion Richardson takes over for Bennett and will attempt to mitigate the loss as much as possible.
  • PHI Cornerback #23
Raiders traded up with the Texans to select Maryland CB Jakorian Bennett with the No. 104 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.
The Raiders moved up five spots but traded back from pick No. 174 to pick No. 203 later in the draft. Bennett (5’11/188) didn’t start until his senior year of high school and had to go the JuCo route for two years in order to build his value. He became a starter in 2021 and was highly productive over the next two seasons, racking up 29 PBU, five interceptions, and allowing a 47% completion rate while twice earning Honorable Mention All-Big Ten recognition. Bennett substantially raised his profile during the pre-draft evaluation process, running a blinding 4.30s 40-yard dash that is a 99.6th percentile time along with a 40.5” vertical (96th%) and 11’01” broad jump (98th%) for a 9.59 RAS. He has enough juice and fluidity to turn and run in lockstep with speedsters but is vulnerable to manipulation after receivers get him striding, then break off their routes. He’s constantly raking at the ball and plays scrappy to overcome size limitations, Bennett has the skills to compete for meaningful reps.
