Cowboys nickel back Orlando Scandrick is out 4-8 weeks after shattering his left index finger during OTA practices.
While he should be healthy around the start of training camp, this gives Cletis Gordon and rookie Jamar Wall a chance to step up. Scandrick was Dallas’ weakest defensive back last year, including Ken Hamlin, and intercepted just one pass in 640 snaps. He shouldn’t be guaranteed the nickel job.
  • PHI Defensive Back
Eagles promoted S Jamar Adams from their practice squad and waived CB Jamar Wall.
Wall won’t be missed after appearing in just one game as an Eagle, recording no tackles. He’s a fringe NFL prospect out of Texas Tech. The Birds have a greater depth need at safety, which is why Adams got the roster nod.
  • PHI Defensive Back
Eagles signed S Jamar Wall from their practice squad.
Wall is a mediocre talent, but the Eagles need secondary depth with FS Nate Allen out for the year and CB Dimitri Patterson suddenly struggling mightily.
  • PHI Defensive Back
    Texans waived CB Jamar Wall.
The rookie out of Texas Tech was active for only one of the Texans’ first three games. He’s been replaced by veteran special teamer Karl Paymah.
  • PHI Defensive Back
Cowboys signed sixth-round CB Jamar Wall to a four-year contract, including a $97,000 signing bonus.
A mediocre talent from Texas Tech, Wall was often picked on as a senior despite supposedly being the Red Raiders’ No. 1 corner. He intercepted five passes as a sophomore and never seemed to get better. Wall is battling for a roster spot with Cletis Gordon and undrafted sleeper Bryan McCann.
  • PHI Defensive Back
Texans claimed CB Jamar Wall off waivers from the Cowboys.
Wall was a sixth-round pick in April’s draft, showing little as a senior at Texas Tech before doing the same in Cowboys training camp. Wall will fall in line as the Texans’ sixth cornerback, at least for as long as he lasts.
  • FA Defensive Back
Brian Baldinger speculates that Cowboys CB Bryan McCann could emerge as the team’s fourth cornerback.
McCann would have to beat out Jamar Wall and Cletis Gordan to take the job. Baldinger talks about McCann having “really good ball skills,” though little else is known about the undrafted rookie from Southern Methodist. Whoever wins the battle will not have any IDP value.
  • NE Wide Receiver #16
Cowboys waived WR Jesse Holley, WR Manny Johnson, CB Teddy Williams, CB Jamar Wall, LB Brandon Sharpe, and OL Mike Tepper.
Holley lost out to Sam Hurd, who gambled and won when he refused to take a paycut. Williams was a world-class sprinter tried out at both receiver at corner.
  • PHI Defensive Back
    Eagles waived DB Jamar Wall.
With Jarrad Page coming on at safety, Wall got squeezed. The Eagles also waived WR Gerald Jones, TE Martell Webb and T Spencer Johnson.
  • PHI Defensive Back
    Eagles re-signed S Jamar Wall.
Wall was just waived by the Eagles on Monday but went unclaimed. He takes the roster spot of CB Jorrick Calvin.
