49ers signed fourth-round LB Jay Moore to a four-year contract.
No terms yet, but last year’s No. 104 pick overall received a deal worth $2.075 million. The 273-pound former Nebraska defensive end has been impressive early in his transition to outside linebacker and has a shot to make an impact if Moore can somehow overcome his lack of good speed.
  • DAL Defensive Lineman
49ers OLB Jay Moore has a high ankle sprain and will be placed on season-ending injured reserve.
Backup NT and fellow rookie Joe Cohen (sprained knee) may join Moore on the I.R. Both were second-day draft choices, but Moore was expected to help as a reserve pass rusher. Parys Haralson will move up the depth chart.
  • TB Wide Receiver
49ers waived WR Maurice Price, TE Joe Jon Finley, OLB Jay Moore, OT Joe Toledo, ILB Mark Washington, and LB Justin Roland.
Moore had the best shot to make the team in this group, but he’s shown little pass-rush ability and battled injuries since being drafted in the 2007 fourth round. Finley, Roland, and Toledo could go on the practice squad.
  • DAL Defensive Lineman
49ers OLB Jay Moore tore his biceps in the team’s preseason finale.
Moore, Adam Carriker’s bookend at Nebraska, will miss his second straight season. He was squarely on the roster bubble and likely will go on I.R.
  • DAL Defensive Lineman
49ers placed OLB Jay Moore (biceps) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Moore isn’t ideally suited for San Francisco’s 3-4 defense and this hurts his development. Had he stayed healthy, Moore could’ve gotten a shot elsewhere.
  • DAL Defensive Lineman
49ers OLB Jay Moore is recovered from the high ankle sprain that cost him his whole rookie year and has shed about 20 pounds.
Moore came to the Niners weighing 280; he’s down to 259. Adam Carriker’s former bookend at Nebraska could get a look at the spot opposite Manny Lawson. He lacks elite speed, but could help in a rotation on early downs.
  • TEN Defensive Lineman
Titans signed DEs Marcus Howard and Jay Moore, and OL Nevin McCaskill to reserve/future contracts.
Howard, 24, had two sacks for the Colts in 2008, but was out of football last year. He is a ‘tweener end/linebacker and will try to make the Titans as a situational rusher. Moore was San Francisco’s fourth-round pick in 2006.
  • DAL Defensive Lineman
Free agent OLB Jay Moore “never showed up” after signing a free agent deal with the Cowboys on Friday.
We’re not closing the book on Moore just yet as there’s probably more to this story. But the Cowboys have gone ahead and added Brandon Sharpe to take his roster spot. Moore is back on the street for now.
  • DAL Defensive Lineman
Cowboys signed OLB Jay Moore and waived WR Verran Tucker.
Tucker showed little during OTAs. Though Moore projects as a pass-rushing outside linebacker in Dallas’ 3-4, he’s probably just a practice body for camp.
  • DAL Defensive Lineman
Titans waived DE Jay Moore and TE Gerald Harris.
The 26-year-old Moore has never registered any statistics in a regular season game and should find a hard time latching on with another team. The same goes for the 22-year-old undrafted free agent Harris.
