Oregon State redshirt sophomore CB Jaydon Grant was taken to the hospital after running into a metal fence while defending a pass during Thursday’s practice.
Grant (6'0/171) collided with the metal fence while going up to try for an interception. He was down on the field for about half-an-hour before subsequently being ambulanced to the hospital. Beavers HC Jonathan Smith said that the team is taking every precaution with the cornerback. This past season, Grant logged 16 tackles with a pair of passes defended in six games. He could potentially be in line for a larger role during the coming season, assuming a full recovery from Thursday’s scary moment. We’ll pass along updates on his health as information becomes available.
