Dolphins RB/FB Jerome Messam will undergo surgery Tuesday to repair a torn left meniscus in his knee.
The injury occurred during the CFL season. Messam revealed that it’s his second surgery on the same knee in the last five months. Already a long shot for a roster spot, this will kill Messam’s chances of making an early impression.

Dolphins signed RB Jerome Messam, previously of the CFL’s Edmonton Eskimos, to a three-year contract.
The 26-year-old comes with a checkered off-field reputation and Brandon Jacobs size at 6'3" and close to 250 pounds. The first Canadian-born running back to top 1,000 yards since the 2000 season, Messam earned CFL All-Star honors with Edmonton last season. He won’t be guaranteed a roster spot in Miami.

    Dolphins waived RB Jerome Messam.
Messam has knee problems and made no noise in camp after being signed out of the Canadian League in February. He failed to earn a single preseason carry. Messam will return to Edmonton in the CFL.
