Madsen

Wand was behind RT Cornell Green and LT Kwame Harris. Madsen will likely leapfrog Ben Troupe and go back to being Zach Miller’s top substitute.

Madsen went without a catch last week, but the former wide receiver has good hands and speed for a tight end. He caught all three passes that were thrown his way.

Madsen is a skilled pass-catching tight end, but offers very little in the running game. This move made room for Ben Troupe. If the Raiders think Troupe will help them as a blocker, they are likely to be disappointed.

Madsen is basically a wideout playing tight end. He caught eight balls for 102 yards in 2007. Oakland is especially high on Wilson as a left tackle prospect. There’s an outside chance he’ll get a look there along with Kwame Harris.

Madsen is having a great camp and looked better than Zach Miller, who had two catches for nine yards. It’s possible Madsen could steal his starting gig.

Madsen has been a standout in camp after a decent rookie season and likely has a firm grip on the backup role behind rookie starter Zach Miller at worst.

The tight end/wideout hybrid was low on the depth chart.

Zach Miller is still the only tight end with real fantasy value in Oakland. The team placed OT Seth Wand on injured reserve.

Meet the new Raiders. Madsen caught a 62-yard bomb down the left sideline in the third quarter, but was ruled out of bounds two yards short of the goal line. He then put a move on Quentin Jammer in the end zone to complete the score. Madsen, seeing plenty of time in Oakland’s new three-tight end sets, is a player to watch in dynasty leagues.
