Iowa State redshirt senior T Julian Good-Jones has accepted an invitation to play in the East-West Shrine Bowl.
Good-Jones (6'5/308) appeared in each of Iowa State’s 12 regular season games, but was ruled out for the Camping World Bowl loss to Notre Dame due to an undisclosed injury. An honorable mention all-Big 12 selection in 2017 and 2018, he was a first-team all-conference selection at tackle this season.

Iowa State redshirt senior T Julian Good-Jones (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Saturday’s Camping World Bowl showdown with Notre Dame.
A bit of an about face, here, as Cyclones HC Matt Campbell had been expressing optimism that Good-Jones would be able to play back around Christmas. Looks like the redshirt senior was unable to make the final push for clearance. His absence on Saturday will snap an impressive streak of 49 consecutive starts. Josh Knipfel will slot in at left tackle with the 6-foot-5, 308-pound Good-Jones forced to sit out.

Iowa State redshirt senior T Julian Good-Jones (undisclosed) is expected to start against Notre Dame in the Camping World Bowl, says HC Matt Campbell.
Good-Jones (6'5/308) has been limited the past couple weeks in practice, per Campbell, but it seems he will be ready to play this week. Campbell added that he expects Good-Jones to be a “full-go” against the Fighting Irish. This will be Good-Jones’ 50th career start for the Cyclones, assuming he does indeed play.
