Ka’imi Fairbairn made 3-of-3 field goals in the Texans’ Week 16 win over the Raiders.
As per usual, the Texans struggled to move the ball on their side of the field and had to turn to Fairbairn, who nailed 54- and 50-yarders while also mustering a 49-yarder that didn’t score quite as much in your distance league. He’ll remain one of the best fantasy kickers in the league in Week 17 despite a tougher matchup against the Chargers.

Ka’imi Fairbairn made 4-of-5 field goals in the Texans’ Week 15 win over the Cardinals.
His one miss was a blocked 50-yarder by Calais Campbell. The Texans have continued to generate plenty of attempts for Fairbairn with their combination of solid regular offense and horrendous red-zone offense. He’ll remain high in the kicker ranks next week against the Raiders.

Ka’imi Fairbairn made 2-of-2 field goals in the Texans’ Week 13 win over the Colts.
Neither of his kicks were all that dramatic. It appeared to the naked eye that Fairbairn missed an extra point on Houston’s second touchdown, but the referee signaled that it was good and missing a kick isn’t a reviewable play. Colts fans were not happy. Fairbairn remains a solid K1 play on an offense that relies on his contributions since they have zero red zone game to speak of.

Texans K Ka’imi Fairbairn practiced in full on Monday and is “expected back” for Week 12.
So long, Matthew Wright. Fairbairn will regain his spot in the K1 conversation this week as the Texans take on the Bills on Thursday night.

NBC’s Aaron Wilson reports K Matthew Wright is “preparing to kick again” in Week 11.
Kaimi Fairbairn will miss another week with his quad ailment. Wright makes for an interesting streaming option against the lowly Titans, especially given how much the Texans have struggled in the red zone this year.

Texans ruled out K Ka’imi Fairbairn (quad) for Week 10 against the Jaguars.
Fairbairn being ruled out this early does not bode well for his odds of returning in Week 11. Matthew Wright will be called up from the practice squad to take his place. Houston is kicking more field goals than any other team this year, putting Wright on the streaming radar for fantasy purposes.

KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson reports Texans K Ka’imi Fairbairn is dealing with a lower body injury.
Wilson adds that Fairbairn’s status for Week 10 is “still being determined” and the 31-year-old is receiving treatment for a lower body injury. He knocked down five kicks in the Texans’ Week 9 loss to the Broncos and is averaging 11.5 fantasy points per game this season, best among kickers. If Fairbairn misses times, fantasy managers will have a legitimate hole in their roster with his production matching that of a low-end RB2. The Texans signed Matthew Wright to the practice squad; Wright is likely to kick in place of Fairbairn if he is out Week 10.

    Texans re-signed K Ka’imi Fairbairn to a three-year contract worth $15.9 million.
He becomes the league’s fourth highest paid kicker. Fairbairn, Houston’s kicker since 2017, has made 56 of his 59 field goal tries since the start of the 2022 season, becoming one of the NFL’s most reliable kickers along the way. He’s been solid from distance too, making 30 of his 40 attempts of 50-plus yards over seven pro seasons. With CJ Stroud commanding an explosive Texans offense, Fairbairn will be fantasy relevant for at least the next few years.

Texans K Ka’imi Fairbairn is expected to play in Week 15 against the Titans.
Fairbairn has missed more than a month of game action with a lingering quad injury that landed him on injured reserve. He should be back for this week’s game against Tennessee. An injury-marred Houston offense makes Fairbairn a very shaky fantasy option for the rest of the season. The Texans have the sixth most field goal attempts (29) in 2023.

Texans beat writer Aaron Wilson reports Ka’imi Fairbairn “needed another week on IR” and won’t play in Week 14 against the Jets.
According to Wilson, Fairbairn is faring well in his recovery from a strained quad; he’s just not quite ready to go this week. The team won’t be activating him from injured reserve ahead of Sunday’s game against the Jets and has instead elevated Matt Ammendola from the practice squad. Ammendola is 6-of-9 on field goal attempts this season and made all three of his attempts in last week’s win over the Broncos.
