Ravens placed DB K.J. Gerard (hamstring) on injured reserve, ending his season.

Dolphins signed DB K.J. Gerard, formerly of the Bears.
Gerard was waived by the Bears last week after not appearing in a game all season. He’ll try to crack the roster as a special teamer.
  • FA Running Back #44
Bears signed FB Eddie Williams, OT Levi Horn, OG Johan Asiata, DB K.J. Gerard, and LB Chris Johnson to reserve/future contracts.
Williams is an H-back type with soft hands, and may be in a direct battle with Harvey Unga to make the 2011 roster. Horn drew interest from other teams late in the season, so the Bears had to increase his practice squad pay and promise him a futures deal. OL coach Mike Tice likes his potential at 6-foot-7.
  • MIA Defensive Back
Ravens waived DB K.J. Gerard, DB Brad Jones, OT Joe Reitz, and OG Bryan Mattison.
Gerard saw time on special teams last season after setting Northern Arizona’s school record for interceptions in 2008. Mattison is the son of Ravens defensive coordinator Greg.
  • MIA Defensive Back
Dolphins waived CB K.J. Gerard, CB Jose Perez, and DT Johnny Jones.
Gerard was vying for a special teams spot. He’s bounced around the league. Perez, an undrafted rookie from San Diego State, was a seventh-round pick of MLB’s New York Yankees in 2003 and may have a career in another sport ahead of him. Jones is a prospect from Marshall. He didn’t even start in college.
  • MIA Defensive Back
    Bears waived DB K.J. Gerard.
Undrafted out of Northern Arizona, Gerard didn’t appear in a game last season. He was a dominant small-schooler, but isn’t shaping up as an NFL player.
