Jets head coach Robert Saleh said S Lamarcus Joyner (hip) is done for the season.
Joyner exited Sunday’s game against the Seahawks with what appeared to be a non-contact hip injury and did not return. The veteran safety was playing on a one-year deal with the Jets this season and started 14 games while totaling 57 tackles and three interceptions. He’ll be a free agent heading into the offseason but should draw some interest from teams looking for help in the secondary.

  • Jets S Lamarcus Joyner (hip) left Week 17’s game against the Seahawks and did not return.
It appeared to be a non-contact injury. Tony Adams replaced Joyner and was active, finishing with seven tackles. Joyner’s on a one-year contract and, with the Jets out of the playoff picture, they may choose to look at youth in Week 18 even if this injury isn’t too serious.

  • Jets re-signed S Lamarcus Joyner to a one-year contract.
The 31-year-old made it just nine snaps into 2021 before suffering a season-ending torn triceps. He was transitioning back to safety after time in the slot. It is unclear what role Gang Green might have in mind for 2022, though Joyner offers experience and versatility for a team that will remain in rebuilding/talent-evaluation mode at multiple spots on defense.

  • Jets S Lamarcus Joyner suffered a torn tricep in Week 1 and will miss the remainder of the season.
This was reported to be the expectation for Joyner and now leaves an already thin Jets secondary even weaker. Joyner signed a one-year deal with New York in the offseason and earned the start at safety in Week 1. The Jets face Mac Jones and the Patriots in Week 2.

  • NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Jets S Lamarcus Joyner could be out for the season after tearing a tendon in his arm against the Panthers in Week 1.
Signed to a one-year deal in March, Joyner, 30, brought familiarity with Robert Saleh’s zone defense scheme. His absence will be a considerable blow to a thin Jets defensive depth chart. Mac Jones and the Patriots face off against New York in Week 2.

  • Jets signed S Lamarcus Joyner, formerly of the Raiders, to a one-year, $4.5 million contract.
Despite playing in the slot last year, Joyner will play safety in coach Robert Salah’s zone defense. The 30-year-old had his two best seasons of his career as a safety, and it will buy him more time as a starter while he exits the prime of his career. Joyner and Ashtyn Davis are locked in on the backend. Now it’s time to find more talent at corner.

  • Raiders released DB Lamarcus Joyner.
Las Vegas will take on $2.5 million in dead cap space from Joyner’s contract rather than paying him the $9.95 million he was due this upcoming season. Signed to a four-year, $42 million deal in 2019, 30-year-old Joyner essentially accrued $22 million for 28 games, failing to record a single interception in two seasons. He’ll go down as one of the biggest free agency whiffs of Jon Gruden’s and Mike Mayock’s tenures.

  • Raiders S Lamarcus Joyner (thigh) is active for Week 17 against the Broncos.
Inactive for the Raiders are QB Nathan Peterman, CB Amik Robertson, S Erik Harris, CB Isaiah Johnson, OT Denzelle Good, DT Maurice Hurst, and OT Trent Brown.

  • SF Defensive Lineman #96
Raiders placed DE Clelin Ferrell on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
He will be joined there by slot DB Lamarcus Joyner. The Raiders seem to send several players to the COVID list every week. It is unknown if Ferrell and Joyner are positive themselves or close contacts of someone who is. Ferrell and Joyner will not be eligible to play in Week 11 if they themselves are positive. Controversial 2019 first-rounder Ferrell is having a decent year along the Raiders’ defensive line, though he has yet to notch a sack.

  • Raiders declared DB Lamarcus Joyner, OT David Sharpe, QB DeShone Kizer, WR/RS Dwayne Harris, WR Keelan Doss, C Erik Magnuson, and DT Terrell McClain inactive for Week 11 against the Bengals.
This news locks Raiders newcomers Dion Jordan and D.J. Swearinger in on defense versus Cincinnati. Daryl Worley projects to cover Tyler Boyd in the slot with Trayvon Mullen and Nevin Lawson on the perimeter.
