Jets interviewed former Panthers head coach Frank Reich for their offensive coordinator vacancy.
Reich has been heavily rumored to take over as the Jets’ offensive play-caller since the team let go of offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand. The 64-year-old was head coach of the Colts for five seasons, followed by one season at the helm of the Panthers, making history as the first head coach to be fired midseason in back-to-back seasons. He was Stanford’s interim head coach for a bit in 2025 and is currently a senior advisor for the program. While Reich looks to be the favorite, the Jets also interviewed former Chargers OC Greg Roman, Dolphins quarterbacks coach Darrell Bevell, Bills quarterbacks coach Ronald Curry, and Cowboys tight ends coach Lunda Wells for their offensive coordinator vacancy. A decision could be expected soon, though given the tumultuous nature of Aaron Glenn’s head coaching tenure, we would not be surprised if the process is lengthy.

Steelers are expected to interview Cowboys tight ends coach Lunda Wells for the team’s offensive coordinator vacancy.
Wells has a connection with newly hired Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy. Wells coached Dallas tight ends throughout McCarthy’s Cowboys coaching tenure and stayed in Dallas with Brian Schottenheimer, who took over when McCarthy was fired. Wells in early January got an offensive coordinator interview with the Commanders. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him follow McCarthy to Pittsburgh as the Steelers undergo yet another offensive transition.

Commanders completed their interview with Cowboys TE coach Lunda Wells for their offensive coordinator vacancy.
That was fast. ESPN’s Todd Archer reported on the Commanders’ request to interview Wells just a few hours ago. Wells ostensibly has a relationship with Commanders head coach Dan Quinn from their time together with the Cowboys in 2021-2023, and Wells is said to have been a “big part of game planning” since the Cowboys hired him in 2020.

Per ESPN’s Todd Archer, “Wells has been [a] big part of game planning” since the Cowboys hired him away from the Giants in 2020. He coached the same position there from 2018-2019 after serving as the assistant offensive line coach from 2013-2017. Wells “was on staff with Commanders head coach Dan Quinn for three years, when Quinn served as the Cowboys’ defensive coordinator from 2021-2023.
