Marc Bulger suffered a bone bruise on his knee in Monday night’s preseason loss.
The Rams had an MRI taken on Tuesday just to make sure. His status is day-to-day.

Marc Bulger will start next Monday night’s game at Philadelphia.
“I’ll go ... Yeah, I’ll go,” Bulger said after Sunday’s game. Bulger has missed two games with a sore throwing shoulder. He’ll be a decent play versus the Eagles in a game St. Louis needs to win.
  • BAL Quarterback
The Rams don’t believe Marc Bulger’s shoulder injury is serious, but they believe it’s worse than the one he suffered at Miami earlier this year.
Bulger owners may remember he was injured in the game preceeding St. Louis’ bye week. The Rams had said at the time that Bulger would have missed a game had it not been for the bye. That is causing some in St. Louis to speculate he’ll miss at least one game. We’ll see.
  • BAL Quarterback
Marc Bulger took his regular snaps at Rams practice Thursday.
He may not be 100%, but he’s good enough to play. The injury, in addition to playing the tough Philly secondary, makes Bulger only an average fantasy play.
  • LA Offensive Team
Rams hired Al Saunders as offensive coordinator.
Finally, the Rams get something right. Saunders, a receivers coach during the Greatest Show on Turf Era, is very close to Torry Holt. After seeing Holt and Scott Linehan’s interactions last year, Saunders will be a welcomed addition. Saunders runs a Mike Martz-style offense, but his play calling is less pass heavy. The hire is promising news for all Rams skill players.
  • FA Quarterback #17
Adam Caplan of FOX Sports hears the Raiders are still looking for “potential competition” for QB Jason Campbell.
Caplan throws out Trent Edwards and Marc Bulger as possibilities, though we’ve heard multiple times that Bulger wants to either re-sign with Baltimore or land close to his midwest home base. Edwards makes some sense, as he starred at nearby Stanford. If the Raiders are serious about competition, Vince Young is the best QB available and would benefit from Hue Jackson’s coaching.
  • BAL Quarterback
Rams coach Scott Linehan called Marc Bulger “The best-kept secret in the NFL.”
We try to avoid reporting atta-boys, but this one is a great sign for Bulger. He doesn’t have to worry about Gus Frerotte. Bulger has reportedly taken well to Scott Linehan’s new system and we expect a top-five fantasy quarterback season.
  • BAL Quarterback
Marc Bulger completed 18-of-34 passes for 217 yards in Week 1.
Bulger couldn’t execute with his red-zone passes, of which there were many. He’ll be a much better start next week at San Francisco.

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen confirms that free agent Marc Bulger “does not want to play” football anymore.
Adam Schefter reported on August 3 that Bulger had decided to retire. Some in the national media have pulled for Bulger’s return, but the 34-year-old informed the Colts that he wasn’t interested during a recent inquiry.
  • BAL Quarterback
Marc Bulger completed 24-of-31 yards for 285 yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT in a week two loss today.
Bulger is the new Aaron Brooks: his numbers look better than his performance. Since numbers are all that matters to us, Bulger is an every-week starter who should continue to rack up huge yardage totals.
