49ers waived CB Markus Curry, DE Zack Anderson, OL Sean Estrada, QB Luke Getsy, S Jake Patten, DE Darius Sanders, and RB Arkee Whitlock.
Curry spent some time on San Diego’s active roster in 2006 but didn’t have a shot for the dime cornerback role against rookie Tarell Brown.
  • SF Wide Receiver
49ers waived WR Dominique Zeigler, T Joe Toledo, G Brian de la Puente, TE J.J. Finley, LB Larry Grant, DE Louis Holmes, S D.J. Parker, CB Markus Curry, and DL Walter Curry.
Zeigler was productive in the preseason, but it wasn’t enough to move him past Jason Hill. Grant could draw interest because he’ll cover kicks.
  • SF Defensive Back
Chargers CB Markus Curry was reportedly impressive at training camp Wednesday.
San Diego is very thin at corner so the former undrafted free agent will likely be given every chance to earn a role.
  • SF Defensive Back
Chargers released CB Markus Curry and signed CB Steve Gregory.
Curry had been working as San Diego’s dime back. Gregory is an undrafted rookie from Syracuse. The Chargers would be at a major loss if any of their top three corners went down.
  • SF Defensive Back
Chargers released CB Markus Curry from the practice squad.
Curry was cut after being arrested on suspicion of committing domestic violence, something he had a history with at Michigan. He began the season on San Diego’s active roster but was released in late September and signed to the practice team earlier this month.
