Giants signed LB Matthew Adams, formerly of the Browns.
Adams appeared in all 17 games last year, one of which was credited as a start. While he can occasionally pitch in on defense, Adams’ specialty is special teams. He led the league with 435 special teams snaps. Adams also logged 10 tackles on special teams plus a handful more on defense. He will be locked into a high-volume role on special teams for the Giants.

Browns signed LB Matthew Adams, formerly of the Bears.
It’s Depth Linebacker Signing Tuesday. Following former Colts DC Matt Eberflus to Chicago, Adams started three games and played 188 defensive snaps for the Bears last season. Adams figures to be front seven depth and a willing special teamer for the Browns. Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Jacob Phillips, and Sione Takitaki are the starters for the Browns at the moment.

  • BAL Linebacker #0
Bears LB Roquan Smith (hip) is active for Week 3 against the Texans.
Smith didn’t practice all week, but the Bears are still playing him. Meanwhile, CB Jaylon Johnson (quad), a surprise DNP on Friday is out. Also inactive for the Bears are WR Velus Jones (hamstring), S Dane Cruikshank (hamstring), TE Ryan Griffin (Achilles), LB Matt Adams (hamstring), and OL Ja’Tyre Carter. The only interesting name here from a fantasy perspective is Jones, who hasn’t played in any of the first three contests of the season and has barely practiced with a long-term hamstring injury.

  • Linebacker
Bears signed LB Matthew Adams, formerly of the Colts, to a one-year contract.
Adams has spent the last four seasons with the Colts as a member of their defense and special teams unit. Now with the Bears, Adams is reunited with head coach Matt Eberflus, who was the Colts’ defensive coordinator from 2018 to 2021. Adams has seen little action on defense, and will likely be asked to serve on special teams heading into 2022.

  • Linebacker
Colts placed LB Matthew Adams on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
It comes a day before the Colts play the Titans. The Colts also had a staff member test positive last week. Thursday night’s game remains on as scheduled.

  • Linebacker
Colts selected Houston LB Matthew Adams with the No. 221 pick in the 2018 NFL draft.
Standing 6-foot-even, 229 pounds, Adams posted a solid 4.63 forty at his Pro Day with a 33.5-inch vertical and a 10-foot-2 broad jump. He will compete for a special teams and backup off-ball linebacker role in Indy.
