49ers DE Melvin Oliver is expected to miss the upcoming season after tearing the ACL in his right knee during Tuesday’s OTA practice.

Oliver, a rookie starter in 2006, will be replaced in the down-line rotation by free agent signee Sam Rayburn. The LSU alum was slated for a reserve role as a sophomore after San Francisco beefed up the end spot this offseason.
