Seahawks agreed to terms with QB J.P. Losman on a one-year, $630,000 contract.
That explains the decision to dump fourth QB Mike Reilly after just two weeks on the roster. Seattle’s Mike Teel is a promising developmental prospect, but he may not have the mobility desired by coach Pete Carroll and coordinator Jeremy Bates. Losman will battle Teel for the No. 3 QB job. He didn’t come close to seeing the field with a desperate Raiders team late last season.

Seahawks 2009 sixth-round pick Mike Teel indicated on Twitter Wednesday that he’s been waived by the team.
“Thanks to everyone in Seattle,” he tweeted. “All of you have been great, I enjoyed my time here.” If he’s been let go, Teel has enough talent that he should get a look on waivers. He doesn’t lack NFL-caliber arm strength.

    Seahawks waived QB Mike Teel.
Look for him to be snapped up off waivers. Teel, 24, threw 25 touchdown passes and averaged 8.6 yards per attempt as a senior at Rutgers before going to Seattle in the sixth round of last year’s draft. Teams that run vertical offenses like the Ravens, Bengals, Saints, and Lions could have interest.

Patriots claimed QB Mike Teel off waivers from the Seahawks.
The 24-year-old was drafted in the sixth round of the 2009 draft after throwing 25 touchdown passes as a senior at Rutgers. The Pats cut ties with QB Jeff Rowe on Friday afternoon, clearing the way for Teel to battle Zac Robinson for the No. 3 quarterback job heading into summer minicamp.

Seahawks selected Rutgers QB Mike Teel with the No. 178 overall pick in the NFL Draft.
Teel’s 2008 line (8.63 YPA, 61.4% completions, 25:13 TDs to INTs) actually isn’t that far off Matt Stafford’s, but Rutgers plays a much easier schedule and Teel’s arm obviously isn’t in the No. 1 pick’s league. Teel fits in Seattle’s West Coast offense, though, and will battle Jeff Rowe to be the Seahawks’ No. 3 behind Matt Hasselbeck and Seneca Wallace.

Seahawks signed sixth-round QB Mike Teel to a four-year contract.
Wild bouts of inconsistency at Rutgers hurt Teel’s stock, but he ended his senior year red hot (22 TDs to 6 INTs in his last six games) and has NFL-caliber arm strength. Teel will likely be Seattle’s third QB this season.

According to the Tacoma Tribune, rookie QB Mike Teel has won the Seahawks’ No. 3 QB job.
Teel, the team’s sixth-round pick, beat out free agent Jeff Rowe. The former Rutgers standout has a big arm and fits a West Coast system nicely.

Seahawks declared QB Mike Teel, FB Owen Schmitt, S Jamar Adams, OG Mike Gibson, OG Mansfield Wrotto, DT Red Bryant, TE Cameron Morrah, and DE Derek Walker inactive for Week 10 against the Cardinals.
The Seahawks have lost several key players for the season, but it’s been a relatively injury-free week in Seattle.

Seahawks signed QB Charlie Whitehurst to a two-year, $8 million contract with another $2 million available in incentives.
The shortness of the deal, plus the compensation it took to get Whitehurst, indicates that he has a chance to play right away. Seattle will want to see what it paid so much for sooner than later. Matt Hasselbeck, in a contract year going on age 35, could be pulled early in the season if he isn’t exceptional out of the gate. Whitehurst is worth keeping close tabs on in dynasty leagues.

    Patriots released QB Mike Teel.
Teel lasts just three weeks on the Patriots’ roster. He throws a nice deep ball and has some upside, so we’d expect another team to take a shot shortly. Zac Robinson appears safe as the Pats’ No. 3 QB for now.
